With a new target on his agenda, the team would have to race against time and work on their 'instinct' to catch him and save the next target he is after.
What happened in NCIS Season 22 Episode 16?
Season 22 Episode 16, 'Ladies Night,' saw the team head for a leisurely Friday night. While the men are preparing to play video games, Kasie and Knight are invited to Robin's ladies' night for wine and pottery.
This episode's victim was Petty Officer 1st Class Jennifer Garcia, who was found dead at an antique store that burned in a fire. While her boyfriend, Dan, managed to escape, Jen succumbed to the fire.
An autopsy report revealed that Jen's windpipe was crushed, and a lighter with Dan's initials was also found at the crime scene. The team concluded that Dan had murdered his girlfriend. The team locks him for the night, and the ladies proceed for their night.
While in the pottery class, Kasie and Knight were still on about Jennifer's case, and they received an image showing that Jen was burned with a necklace gifted by Dan. Kasie concludes that the necklace was placed after Jen's death, which means Dan is trying to plant evidence against himself.
On questioning, Dan reveals that he is not the killer but pretended to be the person who killed Jennifer because he did not want the police to know that he was actually out drinking with a friend who was just out from prison. As this would put his parole in jeopardy, he pretended to be his girlfriend's killer.
After seeing that the store's lock was picked, the team concluded that the firefighter had arrived on the scene during the initial fire, as his handprints matched the wounds on Jen's neck. He was trying to rob some rare books and stamps from the store when Jen caught him, and he set the place on fire. The team arrested him.
