NCIS: Origins Season 1 is coming to an end after 18 action-packed episodes. The police procedural drama will air its season finale on April 28, 2025. Since its premiere in October 2024, the show has kept the audience hooked with its blend of action, crime, and mystery genres.

The series is a prequel to NCIS and tells the origin story of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs. It chronicles his initial days in the service, when he is still reeling from the loss of his wife and child.

The upcoming episode will be available to stream on Paramount+. If you are a Paramount+ with Showtime subscriber, you can watch the show live and on-demand, while if you have the Essential subscription plan, you can only stream the episode a day after its television premiere, i.e., on Tuesday, April 29.

The final episode is titled 'Cecilia' and will likely tie most of the loose ends to give the season a fitting conclusion. Meanwhile, a few unresolved threads that set up the second season.

The focus is going to be on the Pedro Hernandez case again. In an earlier episode, it was revealed that Gibbs killed Pedro to avenge his family’s murder. Lala learned about it, but kept it a secret.

However, the case will be reopened with military police investigator Lara Macy, determined to discover what happened with Pedro. Meanwhile, Gibbs and Lala could finally grow close after displaying undeniable chemistry throughout the season. The official logline for the episode reads:

“When the murder of Pedro Hernandez is unearthed, Gibbs faces a reckoning; when he needs his team most, the loyalty of one is brought into question.”

What happened in NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 17?

In the previous episode of NCIS: Origins, Gibbs and the other agents tried to track down the Sandman serial killer after they realized the man they had arrested before was not him. Sandman had secretly placed listening devices in Wheeler’s office and was spying on the agents.

When the news broke, the media went after Wheeler and his boss almost fired him. At the same time, Wheeler’s personal life also suffered. His son Jason had been arrested and later had a fight with his dad, during which Wheeler’s hand was injured.

The FBI then joined the Sandman case, which only created more tensions. However, Agent Oakley worked well with the NCIS team. Meanwhile, Gibbs figured out that Sandman was actually Luke Fletcher—the man who ran his veteran support group. In the end, he went to his home and killed him after an altercation.
