NCIS: Origins is all set to hit the screens as a prequel to the twenty-one seasons long series, NCIS. The original series and the prequel series both belong to the NCIS franchise.

What is the plot of NCIS: Origins?
NCIS: Origins will show viewers the early journey of a young Leroy Gibbs beginning his career as a special agent. The series is set in the 1990s. It will show Gibbs starting out at the NCIS camp Pendleton office.
While starting as a special agent, Leroy Gibbs is still coping with the grief of the murder of his wife and daughter. During this time, Gibbs meets his mentor, Mike Franks, a highly skilled special agent who leads the team. Struggling to start his life again, Gibbs goes on to prove himself as a special agent.
Who is in the cast of NCIS: Origins?
The cast of NCIS: Origins will see the return of NCIS actor Mark Harmon as a narrator. The series cast will feature Austin Stowell as a young Leroy Gibbs. The series cast will also star two new characters, Mariel Molino as Special Agent Lala Dominguez and Tyla Abercrumbie as Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Sullivan.
The series will also include two characters from the original series played by different actors. Special Agent Mike Franks will be played by Kyle Schmid, a role previously played by Muse Watson. Special Agent Vera Strickland will be played by Diany Rodriguez, a role previously played by Roma Maffia.
