David faces leadership crisis at MQ: Mythic Quest Season 4 Episode 9

In the episode, David finds himself in the middle of a leadership crisis when he faces the consequences of a fallout from a failed investment deal due to the Congressional disaster. He calls an emergency meeting where he reveals that the company had lost capital from foreign investors; however, he has managed to secure funding from another source.

Meanwhile, Ian video-calls David and explains to him that he is determined to take a leave because Poppy is doing the same. David was still unaware of Poppy's maternity leave and her decision to move to the Netherlands. When he came to know about Poppy's maternity leave, David supported her decision. However, it was quite clear that MQ was in a grave crisis with two creative heads deciding to take a leave at the same time.

Meanwhile, in the office, Andy finds that Mikey and Carol are exchanging flirty texts and emojis. Andy feels he is betrayed by his best buddy, and thus they have a small argument in between the office drama. David breaks the fight up and orders them to cool off.

Poppy's confusion and Elysium's expansion: Mythic Quest Season 4 Episode 9

The episode begins with Poppy Li talking to Storm via a video call, explaining her plans to move to the Netherlands. However, when Storm asks whether she will move permanently, Poppy answers that she is not sure. Meanwhile, she shows him her latest piece of art.

When Poppy realized MQ was in grave danger and on the brink of collapse, she decided to help David and MQ. She tried to find the pen drive that had the expansion pack of Elysium. However, this angered David because he thought Ian and Poppy had stopped with the Elysium project.

A furious David decides to terminate Poppy and instead offer Dana the creative director role. Dana refuses the offer as she has chosen a different path of becoming the greatest game maker ever. Even Jo is adamant and defends Dana from being recruited back to MQ. Rachael also refuses to convince Dana to accept the role.

On the other hand, Brad's evil motives to infiltrate the MQ system to get access to the Playpen currency and convert it to currency are revealed. His Polish girlfriend Anna hands him malware that would skim off Playpennies and turn them into cryptocurrencies making them filthy rich.

Ian resigns while Poppy is offered a new role in MQ: Mythic Quest Season 4 Episode 9

As David was already too stressed about the entire incident, he decided to fire Ian due to his lack of communication and transparency. In between the chaos, Anthony tells David about how Elysium is amazing and it can revive the company. Thus David begs on his knees to Poppy and asks her not to leave the company. Suddenly, he gets a message from Anthony, a link to an article that states, 'Ian Grimm has resigned from MQ.'. Ian had released his resignation letter to not face the humiliation of being fired. Moreover, David would have apologized to Ian similar to Poppy as he understood that 'they work together well.'. However, Ian's resignation was a shocking twist for both David and the viewers.

With Ian's resignation, David offers Poppy the chance to be the sole creative head of MQ. In the final episode of the season, the viewers might get to see what Poppy finally chooses: her workaholic lifestyle or a serene life with Storm in the Netherlands. Moreover, it would be interesting to see what's next for Ian Grimms and whether Brad would be successful in his malicious plans of corrupting Playpen.
