Daredevil: Born Again Episodes 6 and 7 heavily revolved around Muse and the various attempts by Fisk and Matt to bring the mysterious serial killer down. In the sixth episode, Matt finally dons the Daredevil cowl to save Angela from Muse's captivity. In the seventh episode, the police find Muse's hideout. Both Daredevil and the cops also identify Muse's next victim, Dr. Heather Glenn.

Meanwhile, Heather figures out that her new patient, Bastian Cooper, is a disturbing serial killer who uses blood to draw his artwork. Bastian soon overpowers her and begins draining her blood. But Daredevil, who identified Heather as the next Muse victim, crashes in and fights off Muse. This fight ends with Heather ultimately shooting Muse, ending the series on a shocking note.

However, Muse's death in the seventh episode of Born Again has fans shocked before showrunner Dario Scardapane hinted that Muse will be looming over the second season. His exact words in the March 21, 2025, TVLine interview were:

“The Muse run, for lack of a better word, in this story has pretty shocking consequences. And those consequences don’t end. We’re carrying them into Season 2, is the best way I can put it.”

How will Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 bring back Muse?

This has fans theorize that Muse may return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 either as a ghost (like he does in the comics), or someone else will take up the mantle, which also happens in the source material. In the comics, Muse's ghost instructs a woman named Morgan Whittier to take up his mantle. However, given the grounded nature of Daredevil: Born Again, it remains to be seen if the show will incorporate supernatural elements.

But there is one way Born Again Season 2 could adapt the story of a woman taking over Muse without any supernatural elements. That being, Margarita Levieva's Heather Glenn takes up the mantle of Muse. It must be noted that it was Heather who shot Bastian/Muse, thus, there might be an element of some guilt involved.

Levieva sat down for an interview with ScreenRant in which she explained her character's state of mind when she killed the serial killer muralist and how it will shape her thoughts on vigilantism:

"It's extremely traumatic. It's life-changing, I think, for someone who's in the service of helping others to then take someone else's life is just too much to even understand at first and the moment that she does shoot him, we talked about it a lot. Is it a conscious [decision]? Is it full-on revenge, hunger, kill? Is it sort of like a blackout kind of kill because so much physical violence is inflicted upon her up until then. There are a few moments where she actually hits her head. So we were wondering if there was a version of it where she's almost unaware of what she's doing, and it's kind of like automatic. So I don't know, I don't want to really reveal what I decided for myself it was. It'll be interesting to see how people interpret it, but the effects are evident right away, even in the hospital scene, when she wakes up from the concussion and realizes what she had done, it's so unbearable for her to process, because taking someone's life is not something that she ever thought, obviously, that she would ever do in her lifetime. [It] really rocks her."

While Heather herself taking up the mantle of Muse is somewhat of a dark fan theory, it must be noted that, most likely, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will most likely explore his psychological impact on all the characters.

"Art for Art's Sake", Daredevil: Born Again's seventh episode, is currently streaming on Disney+. The next episode, which remains untitled, will be available to stream on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
