The South Korean television drama series Moon Embracing the Sun (also known as The Moon that Embraces the Sun or The Sun and the Moon) features Han Ga-in, Kim Soo-hyun, Jung Il-woo, and Kim Min-seo. It ran on MBC for 20 episodes on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 from January 4 to March 15, 2012.
The historical fantasy drama is based on Jung Eun-gwol's novel of the same name. It describes the struggles and plot of competing political powers as well as the heartwarming romance between a female shaman and a fictional Joseon Dynasty king.

While being named Crown Princess, she inexplicably passes away before the wedding.
She becomes a shaman after losing her memory. She is captivated by her weird "visions" of the king's enigmatic first love and her unexplained connection to him when she returns to the palace eight years later as Shaman Wol. Kim Yoo-jung portrays the 13-year-old Lady Heo Yeon-woo.

The South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun portrays Lee Hwon in the show. The bright and kind Lee Hwon falls in love with Heo Yeon-woo and is committed to her memory even after her untimely death.
