The popular sitcom Modern Family gave its fans many memorable and stable couples like Phil and Claire, Mitch and Cam, and Jay and Gloria, but the eldest Dunphy kid, Hayley, had a tumultuous dating history on the show.

Sarah Hyland's Hayley was a rebellious and ditzy teenager when she began on Modern Family Season 1, dating her immature high-school boyfriend Dylan, much to her mother Claire's reluctance.

While Claire thought Dylan was in no way the right choice for her daughter (a view she didn't let go of even in the series finale), Phil was a Dylan fan because he thought he was cool and wanted to be 'best friends' with him.

Starting with Dylan, Hayley had a string of flings and relationships with other men on the show, but she eventually found her way with her first love, Dylan, and they were on their way to becoming a functioning family in the Modern Family finale.

More on Hayley's relationship history in Modern Family.

Everyone Hayley dated on Modern Family. Exploring the eldest Dunphy kid's dating history

While Dylan was her constant on-and-off fling/love on Modern Family, Hayley had her fair share of boyfriends.

One of her most notable and mature relationships was with Alex's science professor, Dr. Arvin Fennerman, whom she met after she sneaks into one of Alex's classes. While Arvin was older than Hayley and her sister also had a crush on him, this was one of her most stable relationships on the show. But she eventually breaks up with Arvin in Season 10 after discovering that Dylan divorced his wife.

Talking about mature relationships, Hayley also dated Dr. Will, whom she met when she visited Andy in the hospital. Will was settled, handsome, and a good match for her, but she broke up with him instantly because she was not ready for commitment.

Hayley also briefly dated weatherman Rainer Shine, whom Phil desperately wanted to be friends with. While he was also much older, the two seemed like a good match. But she eventually realizes that they want different things in life and breaks up in the end.

Some of Hayley's other brief love interests on the show were Kenny, a "slimy, middle-aged jeans salesman'', the rebellious Scott, and Dylan's rebound Ethan. But none survived more than a couple of episodes with the eldest Dunphy kid.

Despite multiple love interests and her ending up with Dylan, Modern Family fans think her best relationship on the show was with Andy, Jay and Gloria's nanny. She met him at Jay's house, but nothing could happen between them as Andy was in a long-distance relationship with her girlfriend Beth, who was in Utah.

While the two started at odds, bickering with each other, Andy showed Hayley how fun a relationship can be, and she realized that he is also a kind of dork like her father, which made her like him eventually.

Things always stayed complicated between the two because of Beth and Dylan, and they never got the timing right. Hayley also confessed that he was the only man she had ever loved on the show.

While Andy broke up with Beth and started a relationship with Hayley in Modern Family, the two nearly missed being an endgame in Modern Family due to a lack of communication about their respective feelings. Still, Andy is one of the fan-favorites on the show, and many even think that makers should have made them a couple at the end of the show.

Hayley finally ended up with her high school boyfriend in the Modern Family finale. Her relationship with Dylan explored

Even after Claire's refusal, Hayley continued seeing Dylan throughout Season 1, and their relationship was as immature as any high school love. Hayley was a teenager seeking passion in her relationship, and Dylan felt like the perfect partner who could keep up with her antics.

Despite being on on-and-off terms throughout their relationship and Halyey dating many mature men like Dr. Arvin and Andy, Hayley always found her way back to Dylan, which proves why they were endgame. While Dyaln has significantly changed since Modern Family Season 1, many fans believe that he was never a positive influence on Hayley, and the two kept returning to each other because of their comfort levels.

After Dylan divorces his wife and Arvin moves to Switzerland, Hayley gets back with him for good, and she eventually gets pregnant with his baby. In the series finale, she has a functioning family with Dyaln and their twins, Poppy and George. The couple has also moved into Mitch and Cam's old apartment.
