MobLand episode 4, Rat Trap, came out on 20th April 2025, and was quite eventful. If you thought the Harrigan and Stevenson feud would calm down, you will be surprised to see how much more complicated it gets. Turns out, Tommy Stevenson’s (played by Felix Edwards) murder, which was believed to be a result of Eddie Harrigan's (played by Anson Boon) losing his temper, was actually an organized killing.
In episode 4 of MobLand, Harry (played by Tom Hardy) continues to work as a fixer for the Harrigans, trying to keep them out of prison. Jan (played by Joanne Froggatt) is frustrated with Harry's behavior and confides in a friend who might be planning something suspicious. Conrad Harrigan (played by Pierce Brosnan) suspects there is a mole in the family, and Kevin (played by Paddy Considine) has flashbacks of a disturbing incident from his past.
Ritchie Stevenson invites the Harrigans to Tommy's funeral, which looks ominous at best. However, the most shocking revelation of the MobLand episode is that Maeve Harrigan (played by Helen Mirren) is the one who organized Tommy Stevenson’s death.
Who got Tommy Stevenson killed in MobLand?
MobLand episode 4 gave us more questions than answers, but it answered the question of why Eddie brutally murdered Tommy Stevenson.
In episode four of MobLand, Harry retrieves memory sticks from Antoine that have incriminating information about Lord Pinnick. Conrad Harrigan suspects there is a mole within the family after he learns that Archie’s body has been exhumed. Since Conrad and Harry were the only ones who knew where Archie was buried, Conrad suspects Jan to be the mole, as he knows he told no one about the location and trusts that Harry didn’t either. He intimidates her and warns her to stay quiet about the Harrigans.
Jan is frustrated by Harry’s loyalty to only the Harrigans and not their family. She opens up during therapy sessions and to her friend Alice. Alice is later revealed to be collaborating with Detective Fisk.
Kevin and Harry likely met in juvenile detention, and when Harry mentions he saw one of their former jailers, Rusby, in the nursing home, Kevin denies remembering him. In reality, Kevin does not want to admit to Harry that he not only remembers Rusby but was also sexually assaulted by him.
Under Richie’s (played by Geoff Bell) command, Harry stabs Valjon with a broken hammer to maintain the ruse that the Harrigans had nothing to do with Tommy’s death, convincing Richie of his loyalty. In true MobLand fashion, despite Harry trying to keep Tommy’s death under wraps, the Harrigans are invited to attend his funeral. Just when you might think things are working out for the Harrigans, they get more complicated.
As it turns out, Maeve was the one who organized Tommy’s murder. Eddie acted on Maeve’s order, which is not that shocking given how much she coddles him and celebrates his wrongdoings. This revelation establishes Maeve as a force to be reckoned with. She clearly has her own ambitious plans and has sought out her own ways to achieve them, even if it means manipulating her grandson into a life of crime.
New episodes of MobLand come out every Sunday at midnight ET on Paramount Plus.
