This Miss Scarlet episode opened with the early release of Patrick Nash. The prison is overcrowded, and inmates with a sentence of less than a year are pardoned. However, we soon realize that something bigger is at play. An aristocrat is responsible for releasing Nash. The aristocrat is a Lord who needs Nash's help with a case.

The Lord wants Nash's help in locating the former's brother, who is deep in gambling debts. The Lord wants Nash to find his brother and board him on a ship to Australia. If Nash fails to do so, the Lord threatens Nash with a longer prison sentence. He gets on the case but before he can start, he needs to find an office to work from, and that's when he turns to Eliza.

Miss Scarlet accepts to help Nash, but she has some rules, all of which Nash breaks but, with a good reason. Nash breaks the rules to be a free man and to handle another corrupt lord with the power to throw the former behind bars. It is here that Nash and Miss Scarlet realize that both are seeking the same man. The Lord's brother is currently disguised as a doctor.

Turns out, the landlady Mrs. Parker has given the doctor £1,000 for what he claims for his charitable needs. After finding out that she was scammed, Mrs. Parker is embarrassed, but Eliza assures that the landlady has nothing to be embarrassed about.

Finally, Nash manages to capture the brother and takes him to the lord who hired him to get paid and safe passage to Australia. However, Nash decides to hand the brother over to Eliza who can take him to Scotland Yard, while he can escape London. Nash also finds out that his license is revoked, and therefore, ineligible to work as a private detective in London anyway but he can work in Australia.

Therefore, from the looks of it, Nash leaves London and even the show. But Nash's farewell is not the only major storyline in this episode though.
