Love is Blind Season 8 couple Monica and Joey connected in the pods. Their emotional bonding and shared values led to them sensing the spark between them and eventually getting engaged. Now that the couple is outside of the pods and preparing for their upcoming wedding ceremony, they also meet each other's family.
In episode 9, released on February 21, 2025, Joey met Monica's parents and her sister. Despite having a good time with his parents, he told Monica that he felt that Monica's sister disliked him. As per Monica, it was her sister being protective of her while Joey stated that it is okay if Monica's sister didn't like him but he would appreciate it if he would get an honest remark or a "constructive criticism" on how to be better.
Monica clarified that he didn't do anything wrong, upon which Joey questioned:
"Has she ever thought anyone was good enough for you? Just wondering if there's any jealousy aspects in there, coming from an outsider's perspective. Cause why has she never ever approved of one of your significant others? It sounds like there might be some unresolved issues."

What happened between Joey and Monica on Love is Blind Season 8 Episode 9?
After meeting Monica's family, Joey shared that he felt welcomed by her mom and dad. However, the Love is Blind star felt that Monica's sister disliked him. Joey questioned what he did wrong. He said:
"I just don't think she likes me."
Monica reassured him that he did "nothing wrong" as her sister was looking out for her and had a habit of being "tough" in matters like these. Then Monica implied how her sister had not approved of her previous partners as well revealing more of her sister's nature. She continued:
"Well, you did nothing wrong, I want to make that incredibly clear. You did nothing wrong at all. She is just tough with really anyone, I friend or otherwise. And what she said to me, she is just worried about if we are good for each other."
Then Joey opened up about how family was important to him and that if one of his family members told him they disliked someone, he would have valued their judgment. Monica agreed to Joey's statements while encouraging him to have a separate one-on-one conversation with her sister. But Joey emphasized that both sisters needed to talk as well as he felt there was an underlying issue between them that needed to be sorted out.
The upcoming episodes for the third batch are set to air exclusively on Netflix on February 28, 2025. Meanwhile, the finale episode will be released on March 7, 2025.
