The release date of Mid-Century Modern

Mid-Century Modern will premiere on Hulu on Friday, March 28, 2025. The show will feature 10 episodes, all of which be dropped together, so you can binge the entire season over the weekend.

To watch the series, you need to be a subscriber of Hulu. The ad-supported plan on the streaming platform costs $9.99 per month, while the ad-free plan is priced at $18.99 per month.

The storyline of Mid-Century Modern

The show tells the story of three gay men – Bunny, Jerry, and Arthur – who have been lifelong friends. When someone close to them dies, the trio starts to think about their future and decide to live together in Bunny’s house in Palm Springs, where his mother also lives.

As the three try to adjust to their new living set-up, they come across several obstacles which lead to some humorous moments. Meanwhile, they also tease each other but always have each others’ backs. The official synopsis for the series reads:

“[Mid-Century Modern follows] three best friends — gay gentlemen of a certain age – who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother.”
“As a chosen family, they prove that no matter how hard things get, there’s always someone around to remind you it would be better if you got your neck done.”

The cast and crew of Mid-Century Modern

Veteran actor Nathan Lane, known for his appearances in the shows Modern Family and The Gilded Age, stars as Bunny Schneiderman, a rich businessman who has been unlucky in love, and is about to retire from work.

White Collar and Fellow Travelers star Matt Bomber plays Jerry Frank. Jerry had once been married but left his wife and his home in his 20s after he was outed in his hometown. The trio is completed by Nathan Lee Graham, who portrays Arthur, a gay man working in the fashion industry who is famous for his style and grace.

Lee Graham has previously been seen in the shows LA to Vegas and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Late actress Linda Lavin is going to be seen as Sybil Schneiderman, Sybil’s mother who lives with him in the show.

Lavin had shot for seven episodes of the series before she passed away in December 2024, at the age of 87. Considering her death, she will be written off the story mid-way through the first season.
