Mid-Century Modern, the new Hulu series, stars Matt Bomer as Jerry Frank, Nathan Lane as Bunny Schneiderman, Nathan Lee Graham as Arthur Broussard, and Lavin as Sybil Schneiderman.
The opening episode of the show showcases these three best friends meeting at the unexpected funeral of a long-time friend. One thing leads to another, and Bunny, the wealthiest of all, ends up inviting them to live with him and his mother in Palm Springs.
The show debuted on March 28, 2025, on Hulu and marks the last project of actor Lavin Linda, who died in December 2024 at the age of 87 after battling lung cancer. Out of the 10 episodes the season consists of, Linda appears in seven of them.

The official synopsis of Mid-Century Modern states,
“Three best friends — gay gentlemen of a certain age – who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother. As a chosen family, they prove that no matter how hard things get, there’s always someone around to remind you it would be better if you got your neck done. "
The show is available to stream on Hulu and has released all 10 episodes of season 1 on March 28, 2025, at midnight Pacific Time (PT) and 3 AM Eastern Time (ET). Hulu is also coming up with a plan of getting Disney+ and Hulu (both with ads) for a discounted rate of $2.99/month. Moreover, new users can avail of a one-month free trial of Hulu.
Season 1 of Mid-Century Modern focuses on the three friends, Bunny, Arthur, and Jerry, while they contemplate how uncertain life is.
What do we know about the show Mid-Century Modern till now?
In episode 4, the friends play the old game of Never Have I Ever, revealing interesting details and dynamics between them. Jerry has a daughter with whom he doesn't have a very nice relationship, and Arthur encourages him to work on it.
Lavin was left with three more episodes to shoot, but the makers had to write her off afterwards. Episode 9, titled Here's to You, Mrs Schneiderman, marks her character's exit from the show. For the unversed, Linda played Bunny's mother, with whom all three friends are living in Spring Palms.
Alongside the four primary cast members, the show also boasts several guest stars such as Pamela Adlon, Vanessa Bayer, Kim Coles, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Judd Hirsch, Richard Kind, and Stephanie Koenig.
