Mid-Century Modern cast and character guide: Meet the actors in Hulu sitcom

David Kohan and Max Mutchnick created the Hulu original series Mid-Century Modern. It debuted on March 28, 2025. The main storyline revolves around three best friends. They are referred to as "gay gentlemen of a certain age," who decide to live together in Palm Springs. This is mainly after an unforeseen circumstance changes their course in life.

An essential character is Bunny Schneiderman (no other than Nathan Lane). He is a successful man with a business. He invites his two best pals, Jerry and Arthur, to live with him and his mother, Sybil, in Mid-Century Modern. They all develop friendships, struggles, and funny stories as they grow through this phase of life.

Mid-Century Modern is powered with engaging stories and features an impressive cast, including Matt Bomer and Nathan Lee Graham. The ensemble members' chemistry makes the sitcom entertaining for audiences of all ages by adding authenticity to their on-screen relationships.

1. Nathan Lane as Bunny Schneiderman

Bunny Schneiderman is portrayed by Nathan Lane. The actor was born Joseph Lane on February 3, 1956, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and is a well-known American actor. He has won three Tony Awards, seven Drama Desk Awards, and three Emmys. Lane's career spanned four decades. This includes performances in both theater and film.

In the show, he convinces his two best friends to relocate to his lavish Palm Springs mansion. Having an optimistic view of life, he constantly searches for meaning and a partner in his life.


2. Nathan Lee Graham as Arthur Broussard

Nathan Lee Graham is an American actor and singer born on September 9, 1968. He is popularly known for his roles in films like Sweet Home Alabama, Zoolander, and Theatre Camp. He received a 2005 Best Classical Album Grammy Award for Songs of Innocence and of Experience as a soloist.

In the series, Lee plays the role of Arthur Broussard- A Black, gay individual who lost his husband, besides losing his career as a prominent editor. Arthur strikes a balance between being secure, confident as well as humorous and lively at the same time.


3. Matt Bomer as Jerry Frank

Jerry Frank is played by Matt Bomer. Born in Webster Groves, Missouri, on October 11, 1977, Matt Bomer is an American actor. He is best known for his parts in Magic Mike and White Collar.

He starred in Doom Patrol and Fellow Travelers and received a Golden Globe for his role in The Normal Heart. At Carnegie Mellon University, Bomer earned a BFA in drama.

Bunny’s friends include Jerry, an ex-Mormon who has come to terms with his homosexuality.


4. Linda Lavin as Sybil Schneiderman

Playing Bunny's stubborn and occasionally controlling mother, Sybil Schneiderman, has been portrayed by the late Linda Lavin. She is a television icon from Alice and B Positive.

Linda Lavin (October 15, 1937–December 29, 2024) was an American actress and singer. She received numerous prizes, including two Golden Globes and a Tony Award. Lavin enjoyed a great career on stage and in cinema, with parts in Broadway Bound and Barney Miller.
