The latest episode of Married at First Sight: Australia, which aired on March 18, 2025, featured an emotional moment for Jamie and Dave. Their relationship has been uncertain since Jamie told Dave she loved him, only to receive no reassurance in return. Heading into Homestays Week, their connection remained fragile.

Jamie had been asking Dave to show more commitment, but in her conversation with 9Entertainment, she said,

"Meeting Dave's family was a really special moment."

Dave introduced Jamie to his father, who has been battling cancer. This meeting was not just about their relationship but also about Dave’s personal struggles. The meeting also revealed an update on Dave’s father's health, bringing a moment of relief for the couple.

Jamie and Dave’s relationship on Married at First Sight: Australia has been filled with challenges. After six weeks, Jamie expressed her love for Dave, but he struggled to reciprocate. As they moved into Homestays Week, Jamie still sought clarity about where they stood.

During an interview with 9Entertainment on March 19, Jamie revealed her understanding of Dave’s emotional state.

"That's also a key part as to why I told Dave to not tell me he loved me back," she explained. "I understood Dave was navigating grief and his mind was in two places at once."

Jamie reflected on her efforts to be patient during their struggles, emphasizing the support she provided for Dave. She explained that while she never pressured him to express love, she sought clarity about his feelings, wanting to know if he was truly interested in her.

Jamie’s sister Georgia played a crucial role during Homestays Week in Married At First Sight: Australia. She directly asked Dave, "Are you falling in love with Jamie?" His response—saying he wanted to "get there"—did not convince Georgia, who found the answer disappointing. Jamie, however, defended her sister’s approach.

"My sister has seen me get absolutely treated awfully by men," she stated. "I think she has every right to ask what his intentions were."

Despite the tension, Jamie admitted she still had conflicting emotions heading into the next phase of the experiment.

"It's nice to just finally enjoy being around Dave again, I missed that," she said. "But 1000 percent I'm proceeding with caution. I can't forget what he did and so there's always going to be question marks about the validity of his words."

Jamie meets Dave’s dad

During Homestays Week in Married at First Sight: Australia, Jamie got to meet Dave’s father, Harold. Earlier in the season, Dave revealed that his father was battling cancer and had just started chemotherapy for the fourth time.

His absence from the wedding in Married At First Sight: Australia was difficult for Dave, making this meeting even more significant. Before seeing his father, Dave admitted how much the situation had weighed on him.

"Seeing dad over the last four years, it does take a lot out of me because you take it all onboard... so hopefully this visit is different," he said.

This time, he had Jamie by his side. Upon reuniting, Harold acknowledged how hard it had been for Dave to be away from home.

"I know he's been a bit upset being so far away from home," he said. "That's why you really don't say a lot, because you know it's going to affect other people."

However, the visit brought an unexpected positive update. Harold revealed that two of his tumors had significantly shrunk, while a third had disappeared entirely. He remained hopeful, stating that another four doses of treatment could potentially eliminate the remaining cancer. Dave was emotional upon hearing the update.

"I didn't expect to hear anything like that," he admitted. "I'm so glad that my dad has turned the corner, he's been on my mind since day one. It's been difficult." He added, "I'm super, super happy. A bit emotional but happy."

This moment also had an impact on Jamie and Dave’s relationship. "It was super important for her to meet you," Dave told his father.
