Based on Anne Rice's Immortal Universe, Mayfair Witches concluded with an epic Season 2 finale on March 2, 2025.

The show stars Alexandra Daddario, Ted Levine, Jack Huston, Ben Feldman, and Harry Hamlin in the titular roles.

Mayfair Witches is not yet confirmed for Season 3. Still, the Season 2 finale could very well flesh out in another chapter, which will likely be based on Rice's final book in the trilogy, focusing on Taltos and their history, as teased by the showrunner in a recent interview.

More on Mayfair Witches Season 3 in our story.

Mayfair Witches' showrunner opens up on a potential Season 3

While Mayfair Witches Season 3 is not yet confirmed, the Season 2 finale opens many possibilities for the next chapter. Fueled by Lasher's death, the final scene saw Rowan announcing revenge on Julien, who ruthlessly planned his son's murder in the finale. In an interview with TV Line, showrunner Esta Spalding notes the driving force for Rowan in a potential Season 3:

“that last moment is [Rowan saying] ‘game on.’ She’s not going to back down from a battle with him. And they really are mirrors a little bit...Rowan and Julien are both designees, or have been designees, so it’s fun to think about what could happen.”

The finale also reached a high with Lasher's death, after he just had a moment of marital bliss with his wife after many years. Speaking of actor Jack Huston's fate in a potential Season 3, Spalding notes:

“I feel like no one’s ever dead in this universe. I mean, it is the Immortal Universe. Spirits come back. He [Lasher] died in the Middle Ages and then was called down by Suzanne. There’s a cycle there, and it would be super fun to explore.”

While Spalding's comments hinted that Lasher would not immediately return in a potential Season 3, he could be reincarnated in the further seasons.

Since the next installment in Rice's novels explores the history of Taltos, it is interesting to note that Season 2 ended with continuing Lasher's legacy, who will likely become the focus in a potential Season 3 (via TV Line):

''The Taltos are born in the morning, then they’re four or five years old by the afternoon...that little baby that Emaleth was holding, who we hope escaped with her, would now be her fully grown son.''

What happened in the Mayfair Witches Season 2 finale?

The Mayfair Witches Season 2 finale saw Lasher's death following Julien's evil schemes. He planned to drink his powerful Taltos blood and had Ian slash his throat to collect it raw. While Rowan can resurrect him the first time, he finally dies when a dagger strikes him.

Julien also reveals his plan to kidnap Lasher's children and distribute their powerful blood among his family. While Rowan is mourning Lasher's death, Julien tempts her to drink his son's blood and join forces with him so that they can become the ultimate powerful duo.

While Rowan denies it, she finally drinks Lasher's blood when alone to become powerful and announces revenge on Julien for her son's death.
