Max drops official trailer for The Righteous Gemstones Season 4 and here's what we know so far

HBO’s popular comedy-drama series The Righteous Gemstones will return for its final season on March 9, 2025. Recently, Max dropped the official trailer for the highly anticipated season 4 of the series.

Created by Danny McBride, who also wrote, co-produced, and starred, the show follows a family of televangelists headed by John Goddman’s Eli Gemstone, the patriarch of the family.

The official logline of The Righteous Gemstones Season 4 reads as follows:

The Righteous Gemstones’ tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. Despite constant bickering, Gemstone family ties run deep, and this season, the family’s codependence is tested as they attempt to move forward without letting go of their storied past.

Max drops the official trailer

As seen in the trailer for Season 4 of The Righteous Gemstones, Goodman’s Eli Gemstone might be entering the dating field after years of his wife, Aimee-Lee Gemstone's passing ( Jennifer Nettles).

However, his children- McBride’s Jesse Gemstone, Edi Patterson’s Judy, and Adam DeVine’s Kelvin, don’t appear to be happy about their father dating again.

Apart from this, there are also glimpses of Tim Baltz’s BJ participating in competitive pole dancing competitions with his wife, Judy’s ( Edi Patterson) support.

Before the official trailer of season 4, Max also released a teaser for the upcoming season in which we can see Walton Goggins’ Baby Billy Freeman making a TV show on the early life of Jesus. Other than that, it is also shown that Goodman’s Eli, the patriarch of the family, is living on a yacht, away from the family and his church, which is also highlighted in the official trailer.

In season 3, Eli Gemstone gave most of the control of his megachurch to his three children. Therefore, his life on a yacht makes it clear that his involvement in the business has been scaled down.
