It’s been almost a year since our beloved Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) passed away tragically on October 18, 2023 due to drug overdose. Since his unfortunate demise, there have been speculations regarding the nature of his death and five people, including two doctors have been in connection to the ketamine overdose that caused Perry’s death.
Now, a new documentary from TMZ Studios, titled TMZ Investigates: Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring that premiered on September 16, 2024 talks about Mathhew Perry’s death and features doctors and other celebrities who talk about the world of Hollywood and the association of drugs with the industry.

The TMZ documentary was released on September 16, 2024 on FOX at 9 pm EST. Its streaming premiere is scheduled on September 17, 2024, on Hulu.
What is the plot of Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring
The TMZ documentary is an hour long. An online description mentions that in the documentary,
“the roles of drug dealers, willing enablers, unscrupulous doctors and unethical rehab centers will be examined.”
TMZ also mentioned that the documentary will show how
“a ring of doctors, enablers and rehab centers fuel the addiction of celebs, who pay them all a fortune for services that are the opposite of helpful.”
In a clip of the documentary released by FOX, former DEA Agent Bill Bodner talks to TMZ about the doctors’ roles in drug related deaths, saying,
“When there's money to be made, or when there's the potential lure of celebrity, that's what's causing this diversion outside of ethical bounds.”
Who is in the cast of Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring?
Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring features celebrities like Kelly Osbourne and Brandon Novak. The documentary consists of interviews with Botched star Dr. Terry Dubrow and conversations with Addiction medicine specialist Dr Drew and former DEA Agent Bill Bodner.
In her appearance in the documentary, Kelly Osbourne mentioned how the time spent in the rehab was more like a
“university on how to be a better drug addict.”
She also made some disturbing revelations about ‘body brokers’ saying,
“Body brokers...they sit outside of AA meetings, looking for weak and vulnerable people that they encourage to go and relapse, so they can then pick you up again.”
Kelly fuhrer adder,
“I swear on everything that it's true, and it's heartbreaking.”

Matthew Perry died at the age of 54 from an accidental drug overdose. He was found dead in his jacuzzi at his LA home after being injected with three shots of ketamine.
After Perry’s death in October 2023, Dr. Salvador Plasencia and a dealer, Jasveen Sangha (also known as Ketamine Queen) were charged in August 2024 on the grounds of conspiracy of distributing ketamine
“in an 18-count superseding indictment returned on Wednesday with distributing ketamine to Perry during the final weeks of the actor’s life.”
