Matlock might have started as a reboot of the eponymous 1980s series but has been able to create its own identity, thanks to its engaging storyline and Kathy Bates’ stellar performance in the titular role.
The show focuses on Madeline Kingston, a retired lawyer who takes up the alias Madeline "Matty" Matlock and joins a law firm to take down the people responsible for her daughter’s death. In the previous episode, Matty brought her grandson Alfie to the office for family day.
The next episode will come out on March 6, 2025, and will feature a showdown between Olympia and Shae. Here is all you need to know about Matlock episode 14’s release, streaming, and plot details.

What to expect from Matlock Episode 14?
Titled Game Day, the upcoming episode will revolve around the cold war between Olympia and Shae. There has always been some tension between the two as Olympia’s husband, Julian, cheated on her with Shae.
The two are finally going to have a confrontation as Olympia decides to hire third-party jury consultants on a case, instead of working with Shae, the company’s in-house jury consultant. As the two argue, the topic of Shae being involved with Olympia’s husband also comes up. The official logline for the episode reads:
“Olympia hires an outside party to select jurors rather than using Shae, putting the case at risk.”
What happened in Matlock Episode 13?
In the previous episode, titled Pregame, Matty was still haunted by Edwin’s accusation that she had played a role in Ellie’s overdose. She struggled with guilt, believing that her relentless pursuit of Jacobson Moore was her way of making amends.
When Edwin later apologized, he insisted that Ellie’s fate had been inevitable due to the opioid crisis and the company’s deception. Meanwhile, Jacobson Moore hosted a family day event. Matty was unsure about bringing Alfie, but he convinced her that his presence could be helpful. During the gathering, Alfie disappeared, causing a frantic search.
However, this was just a distraction so Matty could access Julian’s security records to find out if he had taken the missing case files. Alfie then told Matty about an item in his wallet that could reveal too much information, forcing her to sneak into Olympia’s office to retrieve it.
Olympia caught her but assumed Matty’s odd behavior was because of a CBD gummy she had shared with her. Meanwhile, Sarah struggled with her feelings for Kira, especially after discovering Billy’s fling with Simone.
On the other hand, Olympia worked on a case involving a sorority girl accused of causing her roommate’s death with a toxic energy drink. Though the girl was initially blamed, new evidence proved her innocence.
