The seventh episode of Love Village Season 2, The Green Onion Incident, aired on November 5, 2024, as part of the first batch of episodes released. It featured a disagreement between Ayakan and Gitarin.
While the OG residents were planning Manhattan's birthday party, Gitarin expressed his desire to sing a song, which didn’t sit well with Captain and resulted in an argumentative conversation.

The seventh episode of Love Village Season 2 started with residents playing a game outside the old house. The show hosts teased that Manhattan looked "cute" while he was running. While the rest of the residents were outside playing, Pachi Yumi and Sen-ne were in the kitchen, concerned that Manhattan might hurt himself while playing.

Since the Love Village Season 2 Episode 6 introduced two new residents, the show had nine residents. Meanwhile, Manhattan, the oldest resident, was developing feelings for Tamifull and Ayakan, and Tamifull had feelings for Captain.
The residents had no work for the day, so they could do whatever they pleased. Gitarin played music and sang songs while Manhattan made a punching pole for Tamifull. One of her hobbies was kickboxing, for which he set up everything.
After about one hour, Manhattan shared how his shoulder was hurting. He revealed that it was a "frozen shoulder":
"At our age, everyone’s dealing with something. It’s shoulder pain for me, and it’s intolerable. But I need to pull my weight, or it will be embarrassing. It’s tricky. This is where men and women meet. I’ll feel embarrassed if I don’t pull my weight," confessed Manhattan.
Love Village Season 2 Episode 7: "The green onions" controversy
Later that day, Manhattan and Tamifull were in the kitchen as they decided to make curry. While working together, the duo could be seen having a few issues. It started when Manhattan put vegetables directly in the sink, which Tamifull repeatedly told him not to.
The seventh episode also explored Manhattan’s story. He married and had two daughters but divorced his wife after 15 years.
"It's easy to say our cultural backgrounds were different. There's a saying in the U.S.: Opposites attract, Opposites attack," confessed Manhattan.
After cooking a meal together, Manhattan had strong feelings for Tamifull. However, she "wasn’t sure." She confessed to getting involved with an individual who hadn’t been divorced, if possible.
"He's already been through things like the wedding and honeymoon with his ex-wife. When I think about that…Oh, and to be frank, I plan to pair it with Captain tomorrow," confessed Tamifull.
The next day, Tamifull and Makio paired to work on various things. She was building a shelter for the goat in their front yard. Later that day, Makio and Nino had a private conversation. He confided in Nino and shared how he felt "love" in a "physical way" and asked her to keep it between themselves.
As Manhattan’s birthday approached, the residents discussed the celebration. Captain said he would manage, while Gitarin wanted to sing a song. He didn't like it after everyone asked him to play a shorter song. Seeing him sad as he left the conversation, Ayakan went to talk to him while working.
Later, Ayakan invited Captain for a private chat and asked why he was a "little hard" and critical of Gitarin. Ayakan and Gitarin spent some time together, discussing various things.
Gitarin and Ayakan cooked a meal together. She chopped green onions and sprinkled them over each dish. Later, when Gitarin asked for more green onions, she mentioned that all of the green onions were used.
Everyone appreciated the taste of green onions, so Ayakan asked if she should "chop some more," to which everyone said no.
After everyone said no, Ayakan didn't get more green onions. However, Gitarin went and brought some more.
After lunch, the residents worked on various renovation tasks. Ayakan joined Gitarin for the same. After Ayakan asked him why he had not paired up with a resident, Gitarin continued doing things alone.
"I'm not the one upset because things aren't going my way," shared Gitarin.
She asked him on what basis he was saying that. When he mentioned about being flexible and getting more onions, Ayakan said:
"I asked if I should chop some green onions, but you said it’s fine. You said I didn’t have to chop green onions and could stay seated. If that’s the case, then I didn’t think I needed to cut anymore. But you thought that there should be more green onions, didn’t you?" asked Ayakan.
Both of them had an intense conversation about the green onions. Even after the conversation, they sat on a bench without talking to each other.
Love Village Season 2 Episode 7 ended with a mystery advisor heading to Okinawa to advise the residents about various matters.
