Netflix's Love Village Season 2 Episode 5 aired on its premiere day, November 5, 2024. The fifth reality show episode featured the first Love Bell ringing, which later resulted in the first couple of seasons. It was Chii and Akipon.

"Akipon shares the reason behind his apprehension about having kids. While the residents celebrate Chii's birthday, Gitarin is overcome with emotion."
What happened in Love Village Season 2 Episode 5?
Love Village Season 2 Episode 5, Snot Bubble, started with Chii approaching the bell. However, before revealing the reason behind that, the fifth episode went back in time and featured events from two days before.
Chii's diary entry read:
"As I watched the sunrise in front of the house, various sounds became clear. Now I can identify whose snores belong to whom. And distinguishing coughs is even easier. When I hear Akipon's coughs, it reassures me that someone I love is inside the house, and that makes me happy."
Love Village Season 2 Episode 5: Recap
The fifth episode of the reality show featured residents working on renovating the pig pen. As they had planned earlier, they turned it into a female bedroom and arranged mattresses on the floor. Soon, the female residents' bedroom was finished.
Later that night, Chii and Akipon left the dining room for a private conversation after dinner. Since their last conversation, in which she expressed how she wanted to start her family, Akipon had been concerned because he had other things in mind.
He opened up about his previous partner and how they had two kids.
"Right now, I'm doing anything I can to earn an income. So it's quite difficult to be involved in child care right now," shared Akipon.
Contrary to Akipon's thoughts, Chii shared her thoughts and told him she might not want to return to her acting career after having children. She also mentioned that she might find something else to do.
Although Akipon found Chii's honesty "more likable," he was not ready to have children. Since that night, male cast members have had the bedroom to themselves, as the female residents now have their own newly renovated separate bedrooms.
Chii's birthday on Love Village Season 2 Episode 5
The next day was Chii's 41st birthday. After breakfast, Akipon and Chii went outside to have a private chat.
"For Chii's birthday, Akipon decides to surprise her with a hair and makeup service," the narrator described.
While cutting her hair, Akipon explained why he didn't want kids. Later that day, when everyone saw Chii's new look, they loved it. The Love Village Season 2 residents celebrated Chii's birthday. At the time of the cake cutting, no one could find Gitarin, who arrived with his guitar.
He mentioned that his birthday gift for Chii would be a song he wrote. Because he was drunk, he felt that he could not sing well. However, everyone praised him for the song he performed.
Later that night, Gitarin went into the confession and could be seen sobbing. While crying, he shared that he messed up the song and that because it was "too dark," he couldn't read the lyrics.
The next day, when everyone started their day with their assigned duties, Chii went up to the Love Bell.
"When you find someone you love, you ring the Love Bell and confess your feelings," the host shared.
The residents then witnessed the first bell of Love Village Season 2. As she returned, everyone gathered outside the house, where she requested Akipon join her.
Multiple residents, including Gitarin, could be seen getting emotional after witnessing both Chii and Akipon leaving together. The duo explored the town, where they had a chance to have another private conversation.
"I like you a lot, Akipon. And…I also think this feeling is probably love. I love you, Akipon," shared Chii.
She added that getting an answer from Akipon the next day would make her happy. Later that day, Akipon sat alone outside the old house and wondered about his answer to Chii. At the same time, seeing Akipon wondering how, despite wanting children, Chii was ready to leave that dream of hers to be with Akipon made the show host emotional.
The next day, Chii was waiting with her belongings outside the old house:
"Having children is a delicate topic. So I worry that I might have stressed him out…by bringing it up before he was ready," she confessed.
As Akipon exited the house, Gitarin left the scene because he couldn't "stand to watch." However, he came out of the house soon, where everyone was still there, and it seemed like they had been waiting for him.
Akipon shared that Chii was the first woman to confess feelings for him. He also shared that he wrote his answer because he didn't want to miss anything. With a detailed explanation, Akipon accepted Chii's proposal and shared that he also reciprocated her feelings.
As the first couple of Love Village Season 2, Chii and Akipon, left, residents shared emotional goodbyes with the couple.
