What happened in Love Village Season 2 Episode 3?

Love Village Season 2 Episode 3, This Is Hopeless, started with Gitarin discovering how two of the male fellow residents had "smooth" skin while he was in the shower.

He shared about the same in his private confessional:

"What surprised me was that both of them had removed their body hair. Their skin was smooth! When we took a bath, they didn't have any hair down there. I was so surprised they were both smooth."

Latest relationship dynamics between Love Village Season 2 residents:

Music teacher Gitarin only has eyes for Chii; however, Chii is interested in Akipon, the hairdresser. He also owns a hair salon.

On the other hand, the manga artist Tamifull is interested in a former rescue pilot Captain who had "removed all his body hair," which she has been looking for in a partner.

Love Village Season 2 Episode 3: Recap

Later in the afternoon, two male residents, Manhattan and Captain, got a haircut from Akipon, the hairdresser. While Manhattan was getting his hair done, Chii sat there, looking at Akipon.

As the show hosts described:

"Of course, Chii has absolutely no interest in Manhattan's thinning hair."

As Chii mentioned that day in her diary:

"Akipon's focused expression was really cool. He tailored his hair to suit him. He's not a hairdresser for nothing."

The next day, Chii could be seen carrying Akipon's overalls, which she wore while working. While returning the overalls, Chii hid eye patches and a letter in one of the pockets.

The letter described how Chii had a crush on Akipon as it read:

"Thank you for letting me see your focused expression while working. Thanks for not laughing when you saw me with glasses and no makeup. Thank you for making each day fun for me."

Later that night, Chii invited Akipon for another private conversation, during which she opened up about her previous relationship. However, it was not a pleasant story, as her previous relationship ended tragically. She learned how her partner was cheating on her, and she went into a "deep depression."

In return, Akipon also shared his past and his struggle to end his previous relationship.

"Maybe we both need to talk it out and move past it," shared Akipon.

The next day, Gitarin repeatedly referred to Ayakan as Chii, mistakenly, as he was "focused on Chii." While Gitarin has been feeling strong for Chii, he wasn't aware of Chii's feelings for Akipon.

Later, in Love Village Season 2 Episode 3, Tamifull and Captain have a private conversation in which she wants to talk about love.

"I heard a rumor that you're passive when it comes to love."

Captain mentioned that to see someone's inner self, one needs to spend more time with them. She then asked whether he didn't want to marry and continued their conversation.

Manhattan and Ayakan's private conversation: Love Village Season 2 Episode 3

The next day, while everyone was having lunch, Manhattan got up to pick fresh leaves, and Ayakan joined him. While he is the oldest resident on the show, at 59, Ayakan is 35.

After seeing Ayakan picking the leaves with their roots, he described it later in his confession as "really nice."

The next day, Manhattan expressed that he hadn't gotten a chance to talk more with Ayakan, so they had a private conversation. As the hosts described, the duo had "nothing in common" to talk about.

After their one-on-one conversation didn't go well because she mentioned how he gave her "dad vibes," he went inside the house, lay down, and fell asleep.
