Netflix premiered Love on the Spectrum Season 3 on April 2, 2025. The series follows singles with autism searching for their romantic connection. They find their potential matches and explore their dates and "first-kiss thrills."
The debut episode featured cast members including:
- Connor, 25, from Atlanta, Georgia
- Madison, 26, from Tampa, Florida
- James, 36, from Boston, Massachusetts
- Adan, 27, from Orange County, Santa Ana
Connor and Madison went on their separate first dates, while James went for a speed dating session. Adan celebrated his first anniversary with his girlfriend, Dani.
Netflix describes the first episode of Love on the Spectrum Season 3 as:
"Bursting with confidence, Connor goes out with a fan. Will the third time be the charm for James? Newcomer Madison seeks dating tips from her besties."
Love on the Spectrum Season 3 Episode 1 Recap: What happened during the first dates?
The debut episode started with a returning cast member Connor, 25. After things didn't work out with Emily in the previous season, he is ready to find his ideal partner.
"I'm hoping for a relationship that might lead to...a more physical level," he said.
Connor is living in Georgia with his mom, Lise, stepdad, Tony and his three siblings. They all talked with Connor about his dating since he and Emily decided to become friends. He stated that he wasn't a "blonde" person. His mother then revealed that Connor's next date that was set up was with a blonde girl.
"Okay, all right, all right. I know. I guess I could give blondes a try," said Connor.
The next day, Connor went on his blind date with Kate, who was from Nashville. They discussed things, including nature, horses, and visiting national parks from Kate's liking. As for Connor, he stated his interests include watching TV, collecting swords, and more.
"The reason I wanted to go out with you because is I really fell in love watching your season of the show. I really loved watching every minute of it," revealed Kate.
Later, Connor and Kate went outside to walk in the Japanese garden. It was a great first date, and Kate wanted to meet Connor for the second time; however, he had some doubts. The first episode ended before Connor could share what was in his mind.
Love on the Spectrum Season 3 Episode 1: Madison, with her beads and dolls, discusses her dating life with her girl-friends
The next participant was Madison, 26, from Tampa, Florida. She is looking to find "her person." She describes herself as "very upbeat, outgoing, and playful." She lives by herself.
She enjoys making friendship bracelets using beads and other materials. While recalling having autism since childhood, Madison revealed her dolls being a part of her. She had 40 American Girl dolls.
Later, she was organizing her beads, as her friends were coming to make jewelry and talk about her dating. Love on the Spectrum star Madison revealed about her blind date with her neuro-typical friends.
"I'd love a guy who would like to go to Disney World and ride on the rides."
Madison's friends described her as "very welcoming" and "very friendly."
Love on the Spectrum Season 3 Episode 1: James goes to a speed dating session
Next, James, 36, from Boston, Massachusetts, is also a returning cast member. He lives outside Boston with his parents, June and Lawrence.
"I very much feel like things are...are going well for me and, you know, as they say, third time's the charm," said James.
He was all set for a speed dating session the next day. He talked about his possible wedding while preparing for the speed dating event. While he wanted to be the "center of attention," his father told him it would be his bride, not him.
He had a few dates during the session. The first was with Jackie, who loved dancing and had two dogs. After learning about her dogs, Love on the Spectrum star James was anxious. James' second date was with Mikaela, with whom he shared that he didn't have the patience to be a parent.
James' third date was with June, and he couldn't stop yawning. His next date was with Erika, who did jujitsu in her spare time. After the dating session ended, James confessed that his dates with Erika and Jackie were the two who captured his "attention" the most.
Love on the Spectrum Season 3 Episode 1: Adan and Dani celebrate their first anniversary with special gifts
Next was a returning cast member Adan, 27, from Orange County, Santa Ana. He mentioned being a "huge nerd" who loved anime. He revealed:
"It's officially a year since Dani and I became a boyfriend and girlfriend."
He was getting ready to see Dani for a "special celebration." It was his and Dani's first anniversary. He wore a suit and had flowers for Dani and a special gift.
On their date, Dani brought special Sprinkles cupcakes for Adan. His gift for Dani was a picture book of a collection of moments they had since their first date, which she loved. While kissing and hugging Adan, Dani mentioned:
"We're just taking many different steps at a time. Let's dive deeper. You know, dive deep? More like dive deeper to the second base."
Confused with the metaphor, Love on the Spectrum star Adan asked her, and she confirmed that she wanted to move to the second base physically.
