What happened during the Love Never Lies: South Africa reunion? Recap explored

The Love Never Lies: South Africa reunion started with the show host Minnie inviting all six couples. Before starting, she asked the couples a quick question about who was still together and who parted ways.

She learned:

  • Clayton and Wilfred: Together
  • Nikiwe and Naledi: Together
  • Nancy and Bohlale: Together
  • Siya and Pretty: Together
  • Kuda and Lynn: Not together
  • Gontse and Munaka (Winners): Not together

Siya revealed about working towards his end goal and mentioned that Pretty was his "prize." His partner, Pretty revealed:

"My end goal is just to succeed with my partner. You know? And just make it in this life."

The show also featured video clips showing how the couple has been together and Siya meeting Pretty's family. They also discussed Siya's time with fellow cast member Mallay and how she contacted him after the show. The reunion episode also featured a video message from Mallay.

Munaka and Gontse, the winning couple, were no longer together.

"So, we did get back together.....And things were really good for two weeks and then, after that, it just, it just went downhill," shared Munaka.

She revealed that she broke up with Gontse "three times in that month." Later, the Love Never Lies: South Africa star also revealed that she was "dumb" and finally woke up. She also revealed that she was in a relationship with someone.

Nikiwe and Naledi revealed they were together "again" after a breakup. Nikiwe opened up about getting spiritual guidance about how Naledi talked with "someone."

"You become scared because you don't want the relationship to collapse because it means everything. We were not particularly in a good place like we were when we made the agreement," shared Naledi.

Nikiwe confessed that she didn't take it "well." She mentioned struggling spiritually, professionally, and with her mental health. The couple revealed that they had been living together while they were broken up and that Naledi was "seeing someone." Nikiwe referred to the complicated situation as "absolutely ghetto."

Wilfred and Clayton revealed they were "not formally engaged yet" but moved to Johannesburg and have been living together. They showed why they have been waiting to get engaged and married and talked about being "financially ready."

Clayton opened up about his flirting with Simo on the show and mentioned that it was his "work-in-progress" phase.

Seeing them happy together, Munaka shared:

"You guys are so beautiful. It inspires me so much. Like watching you guys grow and just like all the issues you've overcome. It's...perfect."

Lynn and Kuda, who have been together for 7 years, revealed they were "trying" to make it work. Seeing significant differences in their views about how things progressed, the host, Minnie, asked them individually about what went wrong.

Kuda shared that he was grateful for the experience and had "evolved" into a different person. However, according to Lynn:

"I don't see, I didn't see Kuda change for a second. It just got worse and I got tired and I got up and left."

After listening to their sides, the host mentioned wanting to hear about Veezo's side and invited him to join the Love Never Lies: South Africa reunion. He was a cast member on the show, and Munaka shared a good connection with him.

Everyone noticed Lynn hadn't been able to "stop smiling" since Veezo arrived. Clayton mentioned how she was "red" after blushing.

"I mean, look. You might walk away with the girl and your bro at the same time. I mean talk about having your cake and eat it," shared Minnie.

Kuda also revealed that he was "seeing somebody" and that Love Never Lies made him a better boyfriend.

For Nancy and Bohlale, when Minnie asked about his time with fellow cast member Mia and their intimacy, Nancy shared:

"It was very difficult. Very difficult. But, hey. It was really not nice. It was tough. For me, seeing Bohlale making love to, or having s**, I don't even know how to call it...With another girl, it was traumatic."

Soon, Minnie invited Mia to join the participants during the Love Never Lies: South Africa reunion. She apologized to Nancy for the role she "played" and asked for her forgiveness. Soon, Mia shared her side of the story and revealed that she had been intimate with Bohlale multiple times.

While everyone was shocked after learning the details, Nancy mentioned that Bohlale didn't say "any of those things" to her. After the cast members shared their views on the situation, Mia left, and Bohlale and Nancy revealed they were parents.

"Shortly after...you know, I found out that my woman is with child," revealed Bohlale.

When Minnie asked, the duo revealed that they had a baby.

Love Never Lies: South Africa reunion ended with Minnie thanking the participants for their honesty, vulnerability, and courage.
