Top Chef: Destination Canada premiered on Bravo on March 13, 2025. Kristen Kish is the featured host alongside judges Gail Simmons and Tom Colicchio, and the reality show is quite popular among fans.
In her Travel+Leisure April 5, 2025 interview, Top Chef: Destination Canada's Kristen shared her experiences with Canadian foods and flavors and opened up about her favorite restaurants in the city. Along with her, the show judges also chimed in and shared their favorite dishes, places, and cuisines they enjoyed.
"I love ketchup and all-dressed chips. Any flavour of Miss Vickie's chips,"
Kristen revealed.

Top Chef: Destination Canada host Kristen Kish and the judges have been excited about the show's latest season. The latest season is being filmed in Toronto!
For all the foodies who want to try new dishes and cuisines, the host suggested exploring the local food markets.
The local supermarkets, including Farm Boy, and some local pharmacies were mentioned. She added that the establishment offers unique Canadian treats that visitors might enjoy.
While talking about the treats, she recalled her favorite Miss Vickie's chips, "any flavor" anytime. The restaurant also lets the visitors take home various flavors from the restaurant as souvenirs.
For desserts, Kristen mentioned Summer's Ice Cream.It is located in Yorkville. She referred to that as a "must-visit" destination and suggested the campfire marshmallow ice cream.
Top Chef: Destination Canada's Tom Colicchio shared:
"The St. Lawrence Market is fantastic and has some really great stuff there."
He mentioned that it was a haven for foodies, with over 120 specialties from the food vendors, and the place is perfect to gauge and explore Toronto's local culinary flavour.
Gail Simmons, a fellow judge and a Toronto native, shared her favorite spots in the city: the majestic Casa Loma and the Niagara-on-the-lake.
However, she also mentioned her personal favorite, a Spanish restaurant, Casa Paco, and to enjoy Chinese cuisine, Sunny's Chinese. For dessert, she suggested Brodflour bakery.
"What's special in Toronto is that there are so many diverse communities that all co-exist, and those communities are different demographically than in New York or LA. We all have our own immigrant pathways, and in Toronto, that means the amazing vastness of the four different Chinatowns, the Caribbean, Sri Lankan, and Greek neighborhoods," she added.
The female judge also shared her thoughts on how some of her favorite Canadian snacks are unavailable in the U.S. The snacks include Giant Sour Keys and Coffee Crisp chocolate bars.
