He got engaged to Monica, who was searching for a loyal and committed relationship. The couple navigated their pod days smoothly talking about politics, family, and more.
However, the real world was not so kind to the couple. After their vacation in Mexico, the couple moved in together to explore each other's personalities. They were working on their differences and wanted to make it work.
Soon, the time came to meet families, and Stephen was skeptical because he was not employed at that point.
Monica stayed with him like a supportive partner. But as episode 8 revealed, Stephen was caught texting another girl when he was away for a sleep test. Monica was shattered knowing she got cheated and called it off immediately.
Stephen came forward during the reunion and took accountability for his actions. He accepted that he gave in during the moment of weakness and slipped into the conversation which he should not have done.

Love Is Blind season 7 released its reunion episode on October 30 on Netflix, and the pod squad returned to chime in about their journey along with the hosts, Nick and Vanessa Lachey.
The hosts circled all the cast members and tried to get answers to all the questions that tickled their brains. They wanted to know from Stephen how things turned out for him after his cheating fiasco, and what happened that day.
Love Is Blind star Stephen seemed candid about the whole incident and wanted to put forward his perspective. He took full responsibility for his actions but also admitted that nobody cared for his side of the story.
He felt he was judged and was not given enough space to explain himself. He iterated the details of the incident and mentioned that he had been seeking therapy and reaching out for help to overcome this.
He admitted that he was guilty of the act, and clarified that he had not met the "girl" in person ever. He also mentioned that he sent a sorry note to Monica's father, asking for his apologies.
According to Stephen, he met the girl on Instagram and knew her for years. He was just casually chatting to her before it all went down in episode 8 of Love Is Blind.
Monica was offended that he brought up sending a letter to his father during the reunion and also mentioned she had a feeling he would do so. Monica told the hosts that she was open to the idea that they might not work out as a couple but still wanted to do her best to make it work.
She was shocked by the fact that Stephen cheated on him emotionally, that was something she could not have imagined.
However, the hosts also questioned Monica's decision to look past Stephen's cheating history. Monica justified her stance and said that she had been cheated before and no one except Stepehn came forward to tell her about it.
She said that Stephen spoke about this very early all on during the pod days, which felt like a "yellow flag" if not green.
