Netflix aired Love is Blind UK episode 2 on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, on its platform. The dating social experiment features individuals looking for their potential love interest. The twist is that participants go on several blind dates and decide to get engaged without having seen their partner. Only after choosing each other do they get to see each other face-to-face.
Love is Blind UK episode 2 saw Nicole, 29, head of brand and marketing, develop two connections, Sam and Benaiah, a structural landscraper, who decided to warn Nicole about Sam.
While Benaiah spent his time among fellow male participants in male living quarters, he learned that Nicole’s other potential connection was with Sam, the product design manager. After learning about Sam’s true intentions, Benaiah decided to warn Nicole about Sam.
Why did Benaiah feel protective of Nicole?
On Love is Blind UK, Sam found his potential connection with two participants, Jasmine and Nicole. However, Jasmine felt that Bobby, a luxury shopping guide, was a better fit for her. Hence, she ended her connection with Sam on good terms, which Sam didn’t like.
After that break-up date with Jasmine, Sam returned to the male quarters and shared his feelings with fellow participants.
"I didn’t see it coming. I got rejected after ten seconds. I whittled it down to two amazing girls, and one’s gone. So beggars can’t be choosers, eh? You know what I mean?"
Among other participants on Love is Blind UK, Benaiah also listened to what Sam was saying and what he was implying. Seeing such behavior and intentions from Sam, Benaiah was worried about Nicole.
Benaiah shared in the confessional that Nicole does have another connection with Sam, and he genuinely wants what is best for her. He also added that he had to protect her because he cared about her. There have been many questions about Sam’s authenticity and genuine reasons for being there.
Later, Benaiah shared with his fellow participant and friend Steven:
"I never want to be like, “They said this, that, that.” I don’t wanna sabotage anybody’s experience. But that, like, a realization that I’m very protective over her."
Benaiah further shared that to save Nicole, he would have to "throw somebody under the bus," if he hadn’t said this to Nicole, he would probably regret it. Steven reassured Benaiah and told him that he was doing the right thing.
Later, Benaiah confessed that it was important for him and Nicole to have a conversation. The last time he saw her, he couldn't give her assurances over an immediate proposal.

Benaiah then went on a date with Nicole. He decided to be open and honest about everything, as he felt that’s how he was and that’s how he did things.
Benaiah shared with Nicole that he had thought of a future together. He "genuinely" believes that the connection they’ve had is there. He told Nicole he wanted to be with her, which she appreciated.
She then added that she was exploring another connection, and Benaiah agreed that she might have a "stronger" connection with the other person.
Benaiah told Nicole that she could do what was best for her, but he "deeply cared" for her and wanted to protect her. He continued that he would be "brutally" honest because that involved Nicole and her future, and that’s why she needed to hear what Benaiah had to say.
He told Nicole that he knew her strong connection was with Sam. Even though he struggled, he tried and shared more with Nicole.
Seeing him struggling to find words, Nicole reassured Benaiah and told him he could trust her with this information. Benaiah then shared that from whatever he had heard, he felt that Sam was not there for genuine reasons.
That is why Benaiah questioned Sam’s integrity and motives for being there in Love is Blind UK. Benaiah felt that Sam was not there for love but for fame. Nicole’s response was, "What the hell?" She shared that she was confused about the whole situation.
