Netflix's popular social dating experiment Love is Blind Season 7 returned with its latest season on October 2, 2024. The show's initial episodes introduced singles searching for their "the one."
While singles have been on various blind dates with their potential connections, Love is Blind Season 7's second episode featured the show's first engagement. It was between Taylor Krause, a policy advocate, and Garrett Josemans, a physicist.
In the second episode, they had additional dates. Taylor read out loud some romantic lines from her late grandparents' letters, after which she confessed her feelings to Garrett.
Upon hearing that, the Love is Blind Season 7 Episode 2 saw Garrett get up and share in detail how he had fallen for Taylor; he got on his knee and popped the question,
"Taylor Morgan Krause, Will you marry me?"
Taylor gladly agreed as they got engaged in one of the pods of the social experiment.
Love is Blind Season 7 Episode 2: Taylor and Garrett's proposal
Love is Blind Season 7 Episode 2 featured dates between Taylor, 29, and Garrett, 31. When Garrett entered his pod, he saw a plant and a little box on the table. He was surprised to see what Taylor, the policy advocate, had sent for him.
Taylor shared that it was an avocado.
"I remember, like, on one of our dates, we literally talked about wanting, like, plants and trees. It'd be easy to get to, like, some houseplant, but I really wanted, like, a plant that's like, you know, I think, more me."
She added that avocados grow other avocados in 5-7 years, which she wanted to be her "timeline" for having kids.
Love is Blind star then teased Garrett when he would ask her to be his "girlfriend." Seeing the perfect opportunity, Garrett immediately asked the question.
"Taylor, would you be my girlfriend?"
Taylor playfully refused and told him he had two hours to "convince" her. They both laughed. Garrett mentioned they were supposed to be "getting engaged," but Taylor was playing "hard to get." Taylor responded that it was "hard to earn."
The physicist didn't want to end their date without making Taylor his "girlfriend," while Taylor described their relationship as a "situationship."
Garrett said he was enjoying it, while Taylor said she respected him and could see him as her "life partner." Taylor asked her potential connection how it would feel when he saw her for "the first time."
"Well, it's gonna be a shock, 'cause I have no idea what you look like...I'm gonna probably kiss you right away." said Garrett.
Then Garrett asked her whether she was worried about his looks. She refused to worry and told him she hoped to be "taller" than him. The duo had a deep conversation about how society has "trained" everyone to think first and foremost about " looks."
After their first date on Love is Blind Season 7 Episode 2 ended, Taylor came across sunflowers, which she remembered telling Garrett about. She couldn't stop smiling when she saw her favorite flowers.
"Garrett surprises me. He gets me all giddy, and I think we're definitely not just friends." confessed Taylor.
Later, in the second episode of Love is Blind Season 7, Taylor and Garrett have another date, and they both send more gifts and flowers to each other. Taylor got a bouquet, while Garrett got a box full of notes, Taylor's grandparents' love letters.
Taylor expressed her desire to share something, and she read one of the love letters that her grandparents wrote on November 13, 1953.
She then read what she had written for Garrett, part of which read,
"You've really been the perfect husband I've been looking for with all the words of affirmation I didn't know I needed. So thank you for being vulnerable and persistent with me. Our connection is magnetic. You've been my number one for nine days running, and I can't wait to lose count for the rest."
After hearing such "beautiful" words from both Taylor and her grandparents' letters, Garrett was speechless. Taylor got emotional when she shared that she didn't think of the possibility of "having it all" until she met him.
The next moment, Garrett got on his knee and asked what Taylor had been waiting for. When he proposed, Taylor responded, "Absolutely."
They were happy when Garrett said he was shaking and couldn't get up. Taylor mentioned that she was "freaking excited." When Garrett mentioned he couldn't wait to see her, Taylor said she would wear blue.
