Netflix's social experiment Love is Blind: Argentina aired on November 6, 2024. The latest regional spin-off show features 32 singles looking for a potential match. During the first four installments release, the social experiment featured participants finding their "the one."
Among the participants, the show featured Emily Ceco, 24, a journalism student, and Santiago Martinez, 29, an entrepreneur. After going on a series of blind dates in separate pods, the duo found each other to be their potential match.
During Love is Blind: Argentina Season 1 Episode 1, Santiago proposes to Emily.
"We didn't fall in love by chance. I think the two of us were destined to meet. Emi, my love, you crazy Boca Juniors fan. I'm down on one knee. Will you marry me, my love?" asked Santiago.
Love is Blind: Argentina - Santiago and Emily's blind dates
As the participants started exploring blind dates with various participants, Emily and Santiago felt more comfortable with each other. During one of their blind dates, the male cast member confessed,
"When I start to fall in love, I usually get insecure. But I'm taking this opportunity to go a little deeper and learn everything I can about her."
The couple discussed their parents. Emily mentioned living with her parents, while Santiago shared he was close to his father, who had surgery when the male cast member left for the social experiment.
"The day that I left to come here, he was still at the hospital. I was just like, "Bye, Dad," you know? "See you soon." Leaving was painful for me."
The female cast member later confessed about feeling closer to her mother, similar to how Santiago was close to his father.
Santiago mentioned his dream of seeing Emily's name. He shared that because of that, she has always been his "top choice." He confessed that he loved spending time with the female cast members. After this date, Santiago knew "for sure" that both mind and heart were with Emily.
During their next blind date, the duo discussed what kind of wedding dresses they would wear. Emily mentioned about not receiving flowers from anyone, to which he replied,
"Never? Well, first time for everything."
He didn't like it after Emily confessed about her initial top choices, where Santiago was not the top. However, later in the show, the Love is Blind: Argentina star said he was glad about Emily's honesty.
Santiago's proposal to Emily: Love is Blind: Argentina Episode 1
After an intense conversation about being each other's top choice during their last date, Santiago sent Emily her favorite flowers. Upon seeing the yellow lilies, Emily was overjoyed.
"Not only I've gotten flowers, but they're yellow lilies. My favorite," confessed Emily.
When the female cast member asked about the flowers, Santiago confessed his love for her.
"Because I love you. So much."
Emily also shared her feelings and told him that she felt the same. The male cast member admitted feeling nervous and "really scared." He also confessed to forgiving Emily because he was "madly" in love with her.
Further, on their blind date, the Love is Blind: Argentina star thanked Emily for her honesty during their last date. He then expressed his desire to share something he wrote with her and asked her to get closer to the wall separating them.
The male cast member approached the wall and explained how they didn't fall in love "by chance." Santiago also mentioned that they were "destined" to meet. He then got on one knee and popped the question Emily had been waiting for.
As Emily shared, "Yes, obviously," both of them got emotional, and tears rolled down their cheeks.
"Of course I will. Do you still want to be my husband?" asked Emily.
The Love is Blind: Argentina star gladly accepted her proposal while still down on his knee. They cheered to "love" as they walked out of the pods as engaged individuals.
"Our relationship began with a dream Santi had, but after today, I think we're both living our dream.
After returning to the men's lounge, all the male participants cheered and congratulated Santiago, while the same thing happened to Emily in the women's lounge. All the female participants danced with Emily, who also brought the flowers that Santiago sent her.
Later on the show, the first engaged couple, Santiago and Emily, saw each other for the first time after their big "reveal."
