Netflix recently aired Love is Blind: Argentina on November 6, 2024. It has become the second Latin American version of the Love is Blind franchise. As viewers might already know, the show features singles interested in finding their "the one."
For that, they go through various blind dates with their fellow participants, with a slight twist. The participants do not get to "see" their partners physically, and they go on blind dates with numerous participants.
As they develop their connection, they choose their partner with whom they want to go on dates and spend more time.
Love is Blind: Argentina Episode 1: What happened during the show premiere?
Love is Blind: Argentina hosts Wanda Nara and Dario Barassi welcomed the participants to the social experiment. The male co-host teased that:
"We are so committed to this experience that we wanna let you know, Wanda and I are getting married."
Wanda gently refused, and everyone laughed about the same. The hosts then shared how a strong "emotional" connection is more important than having a strong "physical" connection in a marriage.
First day of the experiment: Love is Blind: Argentina
As the female host mentioned, the girls would go on blind dates with each male cast member on the first day of Love is Blind: Argentina. Agustina Pontoriero, 29, had her first blind date, where she mentioned her "checklist." As she shared, she doesn't believe in 50/50 relationships.
Her first date was with Santiago Martinez, 29, who mentioned despite being a confident person like Agustina, he didn't know what to expect from the experiment. They both liked each other, and he mentioned Agustina put him at "ease."
Santiago's second date was with Emily, about whom he earlier dreamed, and he got emotional. Later in the confession, he mentioned noting down the name he had dreamed of as soon as he woke up. The female cast member mentioned she was a journalism student and a makeup artist.
Love is Blind: Argentina cast member Emily asked Santiago about his favorite soccer team, which was River Plate. However, she supported Boca Juniors. While he mentioned that his family was a River Plate fan, she shared that she was a "die-hard" Boca Juniors fan.
The next blind date was between Maria Emilia, 41, and Marino Morduchowicz, 45. He thought Maria was "sexy, delightful, intelligent, and awesome." She also liked him.
Maria's second date was with Mauricio Zappacosta, 42, who shared:
"(He was) Old enough to realize this is crazy and also see the beauty in it."
With his humorous answer to almost every question, Maria wasn't sure if he was joking and taking the experiment and dating seriously. However, when he mentioned that he had a daughter, Pia, and listened to him talk about her, she loved Mauri's "father energy."
Second day - Selective blind dates on Love is Blind: Argentina
For the second day, participants were asked with whom they wanted to set their blind date. Hence, they would only be matched with their "favorite contestants."
Emily Ceco wanted a date with Santiago, which she got, and both were overjoyed. He mentioned how his family was humble and hardworking while he grew up. Emily shared that she could relate to him because she was also the same.
"I'm a simple girl and I also come from a humble family."
The female cast member confessed that she was falling in love with Santiago, whom she refers to as Santi.
Emily mentioned being robbed of her car and more, and she fainted, which made both the cast members quite emotional during their second date. After spending time with each other and talking about Emily's robbing experience, the duo grew closer to each other.
Maria Emilia had another date with Mauricio. Both of them formed a bond over separated parents and working towards achieving goals. They liked each other, and the male participant expressed his desire to talk to Maria again.
Santiago had a date with Agustina, who knew about Santiago's dream about Emily but wasn't happy. Despite having dreamt about Emily, Santiago shared that Agustina's personality was "a lot more" compatible with his.
The Love is Blind: Argentina male cast member wanted to know her better, as most male participants told him that Agustina was his type. They agreed to get to know each other mutually.
In the women's lounge, Agustina shared with Emily how she was Santiago's first choice until he met Emily. She also thought that Santiago was an a****** because he shared his dream about Emily.
Tom Martorello, 27, had a date with Florfi where they talked about their career and work. The female cast member thought freedom and communication were the keys to any relationship. She told the cameras that she would "in an ideal world" settle someplace near the sea.
Both shared their love for the sea, related to water activities, and how they enjoy traveling. He liked Florfi's voice and lifestyle, while the female cast member was attracted to Tom's vibe.
Tom's next date on Love is Blind: Argentina episode 1 was with Florencia Fernandez, 28, who was single for 4 years and ready to find love. Florencia mentioned her love for music and concerts, which Tom connected with. He mentioned that she topped the list of the dates he'd been on the social experiment.
Third day of Love is Blind: Argentina - Blind dates
Santiago and Emily had another date when the latter was ready to confront him. She told Santiago that she didn't want to be anyone's second choice and didn't want to play any games. The male cast member mentioned how Agustina was at the top of his list, but everything has changed for him since meeting Emily.
Later that day, in Love is Blind: Argentina, Santiago had a date with Agustina, who, as he confessed to the camera, "felt a lot like his ex." She mentioned that being "really good" friends with Emily made her uncomfortable getting to know him better.
"I'm starting to feel really embarrassed for no reason. It feels like I've wasting my time with an idiot who makes choices based on a dream. I thought you were smart, but you're kind of a dumbass," shared Agustina.
Despite her apology for being rude, Santiago didn't like how she "insulted" him. They mutually agreed to end their connection and walked out of their pods.
At the women's lounge, after Emily learned about Agustina and Santiago's connection, she decided not to share her feelings with her.
Maria Emilia had another date with Mauricio Zappacosta, who shared a Neruda sonnet. The female participant confessed about loving Neruda with all her heart.
Santiago and Emily went on another date where they discussed their relationships with their parents. Emily shared about being close to her mother, while Santiago shared that he was close to his father. The duo grew even closer with these discussions about their family members.
Maria Emilia went on another date with Marino, and they discussed physical intimacy and chemistry. She confessed about Mauri and Marino that while the latter felt more open, Mauri felt more "closed off."
Santiago and Emily, on their next day, discussed his wedding outfit, and she mentioned her favorite flowers. Later, when she initially told Santiago he was her second choice, the male cast member didn't like that. While Santiago wanted some time to process, Emily left the pods crying.
Day 4: Love is Blind: Argentina
In the men's lounge, Marino Morduchowicz and Mauricio Zappacosta intensely discussed Maria Emilia. The latter thought Marino was on the social experiment to "play games."
Santiago and Emily had another date since their "intense" last date. She noticed that Santiago sent her yellow lilies, which made her happy. When asked, Santiago confessed his feelings and love for her, which she also reciprocated. After reading a few lines that Santiago wrote for Emily, he proposed, and Emily happily agreed to it.
Florencia and Tom had another date the latter had been looking forward to. They confessed to each other about being the other one's top choice. Later on, they talked about jealousy and toxic relationships.
Tom's next date on Love is Blind: Argentina episode 1 was with Florfi, and they talked about personal space in a relationship. Tom also agreed when the female cast member mentioned how she would value her partner's personal space.
Love is Blind: Argentina's first episode ended before Santiago and Emily's first meeting, i.e., "reveal" could be featured.
