We TV's hit franchise Love After Lockup is diving deeper into the criminal pasts of its most compelling cast members with its latest spin-off, 'Crime Story.'
Set to premiere on February 7th, this six-episode limited series promises to unravel the dark backstories that led its stars behind bars. The newly released trailer offers viewers an intimate look at former inmates revisiting their crime scenes and confronting their turbulent pasts head-on.
While the original show captured the journey of convicted felons finding love and navigating relationships post-prison, 'Crime Story' peels back the layers to explore the events that first put them on the wrong side of the law. The series will air on We TV and stream exclusively on ALLBLK, AMC's streaming platform.
WeTV announces Love After Lockup spin-off series ‘Crime Story’
Angela Molloy, senior vice president of unscripted at We TV and ALLBLK says:
"This fifth series in the 'Love After Lockup' franchise will take the storytelling in an exciting new direction, for the first time focusing on the details of the crimes that preceded the love, delivering more of a true crime docuseries than a relationship drama,"
The show's official description promises "a no-holds-barred look at the pre-prison life of the franchise's most loved and not-so-notorious characters."
The new series features a diverse lineup of former inmates with compelling stories:
Lindsey from Corinth, Mississippi, was a teenage mom turned high-stakes drug dealer who lost everything. Now she's focused on teaching her teenage daughter Miley Grace about the real cost of taking shortcuts in life.
Brittany's story begins in Las Vegas at age 14 when separation from her sister led her to seek protection from an older man – a decision that ultimately landed her in prison. The show captures her emotional reunion with her sister Sarah.
Tampa's Garrett confronts his lengthy criminal record and struggles to earn his father's forgiveness for one unforgettable crime. Meanwhile, Cameron, splitting time between Cincinnati and Tampa, reflects on his check fraud scheme that ended when his aunt spotted him on the news.
Lizzie from Portage, Wisconsin, shares her wild tale of a pre-prison California adventure that ended with her ninth DUI and a mysterious hit-and-run victim. The show follows her quest to reconnect with Krista, the friend who disappeared that fateful night.
Other cast members include Louie, a former high school drug dealer; Quaylon, whose shoe theft led to juvenile detention; Lisa, whose entire family shares a criminal past; Michael, who turned to drug dealing to support his struggling family; Destinie, whose troubled past began with teenage trauma; Amber, a self-proclaimed former drug kingpin who ran operations with her mother Monica; and Mikey, whose father's death sparked a destructive rebellion.

Sharp Entertainment, a Sony Pictures Television company, produces the series, with Matt Sharp, Dan Adler, and Alan Madison serving as executive producers. We TV's Angela Molloy and Lisa Marie Angelo also executive produce. As Molloy notes,
