Shark Tank Season 16 Episode 14 brought a pitch from a company called Firefly Recovery that sought $500 for a 2.5% stake in their company and, as pointed out by Kevin O'Leary, was a huge valuation. However, the entrepreneurs seem to agree on the chosen rate given the numbers of their company and their technology.
Owners Anthony Kjenstad and Lauren Campbell introduced their product, Firefly Recovery. They highlighted how athletes are giving as much importance to the recovery bit of their workout as to the practice phase itself.
Lauren says that they are tracking it all and finding ways to improve it. This is being done so they can have a good workout the next day as well.
Anthony then pointed out on Shark Tank the pneumatic compression boots that help in the recovery of athletes and their lower body parts right now, but they are "clunky" and not easily portable. This is where Firefly Recovery comes in, which is easy to use and lightweight.
The product uses a patented "flutter action" that helps blood flow throughout the body after a workout, which is faster and more convenient to use. Talking about the same, Anthony said,
"As you can see that the Firefly gently stimulates the perennial nerve in the leg to cause the foot to flutter. We call it the Firefly Flutter. This Flutter action acts as a natural pump to increase the systemic blood flow, speed up recovery times, and reduce soreness."
Lauren claimed that they move 3 times the blood flow than using a compression device. Soon Rashaun pointed out that he is an investor in recovery devices like the one Anthony pulled out earlier, which are not so easy to use, and he has to sit on a chair with his legs up while his kids make fun of him.
"My kids think I'm an alien because my legs get really swelled up and then come down. I can put that on my leg and just walk around and assume life is normal and I don't have to wear that? ... Lord have mercy!" he said when his question was responded positively.

The entrepreneurs had brought in Kerri Walsh on Shark Tank, who is a regular user of the product. Talking about the same, she claimed that her legs would feel "lighter" and "fresher" when she used Firefly.
They also cleared up that Firefly is used on the calves because 70% of the blood in our body is in the lower extremities, and they are just using an OnPulse technology to pump that back faster to the heart.
When asked if they hold a patent, Anthony and Lauren replied positively, revealing "nine families of patents scaling 47 patents in total." He also said that they have protected their product quite thoroughly.
Lauren soon started talking about the numbers and said that it costs them $17.30 to make and they sell it for $48. However, Shark Tank investor Kevin was not interested because of how high the company was valued at a whopping $20 million and thus opted out.
Lori and Rashaun on Shark Tank were cooking up an offer and presented their deal for $500,000 for 5% after much of the negotiations. Ultimately, the entrepreneurs shook hands on the same.
They walked out giving away slightly higher equity than what they came giving away, but they secured a deal from two sharks on their team.
New episodes of Shark Tank Season 16 premiere every Friday at 8 PM Eastern Time on ABC. Following their initial broadcast, viewers can catch them on Hulu.
