Who would have thought the geek community would get the best version of a live-action Joker, the popular DC antagonist, in an insurance ad? But the unthinkable has happened with a recent commercial by State Farm Insurance Company, which is a hilarious spin on DC's Batman in Gotham City.

Proving their top-notch creativity, the company launched a commercial centered around Batman vs. Bateman (played by actor Jason Bateman) to bring home the fact:

"Having insurance isn't the same as having State Farm. It's like getting Bateman when you need the protection of Batman."

The commercial also stars SZA, Jordan Howlett, and Kai Cenat in different DC characters. But it is actor Josh Harp's Joker who caught the eye of the fans, who looks eerily similar to the comic book version. With chalked-out skin, green hair, red lips, and a creepy smile, fans are gushing over the accuracy of this new version and even advising James Gunn to take notes.

While many actors, from Jared Leto to Joaquin Phoenix, have stepped into the character's shoes, Heath Ledger's version remains iconic. But fans might have a new favorite, which is not even in a DC project.

Here is what the fans think about the recent commercial's live version of the character.

While many versions of live-action Joker have received mixed reactions from comic book fans over the years, they are going crazy over the new live-action Joker, which looks eerily similar to the comic books.

Plastered with his unique and creepy smile, Reddit fans are expressing their feelings on the latest live-action Joker. One user, u/Laniger, notes how the new Joker looks precisely similar to the animated movies, which is the closest to the comics:

''looks so terrifying, I love it. Yesterday I watched the red hood and damn, while we have had amazing Jokers still no one has represented the animated version one. This one looks exactly like taken out from the animated movies.''

One of the peculiar traits about the comic book character was his creepiness, which many users like u/xlBigRedlx, feel have been mastered by the new Joker:

''I would love to see this design in a movie/show. Definitely the scariest live action Joker design I can remember seeing.''
''It's not explicitly/overtly scary, but the features are off just enough to make your mind go "this isn't right" and wonder what this Joker is capable of.''

One of the users, u/Grand-Possession-560, even went as far as telling Gunn and his team to draw inspiration for the character from the ad:

''Looks terrifying and amazing at the same time. I hope Gunn and crew take some inspiration from this for DCU's Joker.''

Finally, many users want DCU to cast the character in their new movie and give them a comic-appropriate version:

''Dude best Joker, Best smile, best posture, I love this version so much. Cast him immediately!!'' user u/CaptainFlabbergast notes
''This is what joker in the dcu should be built upon'' u/lifechutney notes

Well, we hope Gunn and his team try to accommodate fans' wishes and give them a comic-appropriate character in the upcoming projects. Recently, Barry Keoghan was confirmed to play the character for the upcoming Batman trilogy but it remains to be seen if he will be able to top this reaction.
