1. How Lily Stole Christmas

"How Lily Stole Christmas," is the 11th episode of “How I Met Your Mother Season 2”, and shows Ted calling Lily a "grinch" during a heated argument about her recent breakup and patch-up with Marshall. Lily overhears this remark on Marshall's answering machine and reacts by removing all the Christmas decorations from Ted and Marshall's apartment. On the other hand, Marshall, stuck at work, tries to mediate between them, while Barney suffers from a cold but refuses to admit it. While Ted visits Lily to ask for an apology, their conversation intensifies initially before Mosby finally delivers a heartfelt apology. Lily then returns the decorations, and the group celebrates Christmas together.

2. Little Minnesota

The episode Little Minnesota was the 11th episode of season 4 of “How I Met Your Mother” and was themed around home and family with comedic misunderstandings. The story brings in the interconnected plots of Robin and Marshall at one end along with Ted, his sister, and Barney on the other. The episode shows Marshall taking Robin to a Minnesota-themed bar to lift her spirits after she feels homesick during the holiday season. Seeing her fellow Canadians at the bar, Robin quickly bonds with the Patrons which ends up being comedic trouble for Marshall. 3. False Positive

False Positive is another Christmas-themed episode which was the 12th episode of How I Met Your Mother Season 6. The episode kicked off with Lily and Marshall excited about the news of their pregnancy, only to find out it was a false positive. This turn of events gets the gang emotionally thinking and evaluating their lives. Amidst this, Robin considers shifting her career to become a news anchor for a television show while Barney tries to figure out whether to donate huge funds to charity or have himself a luxurious suit, which turns out to be quite a fun turn of events in the episode. While everything unfolds, Ted, as Marshall’s best man, tries to decide on the perfect gift for Marshall and Lily. As the episode comes to a close, the gang comes together acknowledging the fact that the most important thing is to support one another through life’s uncertainties and decisions.

4. Symphony of Illumination

Symphony of Illumination is the Christmas-themed episode from How I Met Your Mother Season 7. Being the 12th episode of the season, this episode centered around the interconnected story of Robin and Marshall along with Lily on how they celebrate Christmas. Robin narrates, revealing to the audience that she has a medical condition due to which she is unable to have any babies. Throughout the episode, it is shown that Robin is contemplating her life decisions until Ted shows up and supports her by decorating their apartment with beautiful Christmas lights. On the other hand Marshal, with the help of his neighbors, goes on to create special Christmas lights decorations to surprise Lily.

5. The Over-Correction

How I Met Your Mother's Season 8, Episode 10, "The Over-Correction," begins with Robin spying around Barney to find out the reality of his relationship with Patrice. While she focuses on a plan to break their relationship, we see Lily coping with the fact that her father has made his way back into her life, now living in her house. The episode ends with Robin confronting her feelings for Barney and ending up in a relationship.

6. The Final Page

The Final Page was aired as a 2 part episode for How I Met Your Mother Season 8, Episodes 11 and 12. The episode marks a new adventure for Barney and Robin with the prior claim to reveal the final page of his "The Playbook' to propose to Patrice. Robin is initially unaware of Barney's intentions but becomes suspicious. By the end of the episode, it was revealed that Barney’s plan all along was to win back Robin, and wanted her back in a relationship with him.
