American Dad! is an animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman, which aired its first episode in 2005. The series revolves around the daily life of Stan Smith, a staunchly conservative CIA agent, and his unconventional family in the fictional town of Langley Falls, Virginia. Stan in the series is shown as a patriotic and often overzealous father who struggles to balance his duties and family life. His family consists of other members like his wife Francine, daughter Hayley, and their son, Steve, along with his talking goldfish, Klaus, to round out his family.


The series ran for a total of nine years ending its journey on September 21, 2014. The series had a total of 21 seasons with more than 300 episodes across them. The series had an assembly of cast members including Seth MacFarlane who voiced Stan Smith, Wendy Schaal who voiced Francine Smith, Scott Grimes who voiced Steve Smith, Rachael MacFarlane voicing Hayley D. The plot of this particular episode is set on Christmas day, with Stan Smith being frustrated by Francine's lack of attention during a church service. As the church service continues, a horrific rapture occurs in the areas and only Stan and Francine are left behind as the chosen ones to ascend to Heaven.


While the two were considered to have a place in heaven, the rest of the world dwells in chaos, taken over by demons and the Antichrist. Overcoming the situation, Stan vows to redeem himself and protect Francine, turning into a post-apocalyptic warrior fighting against the forces of evil. As the story continues we see Francine getting kidnapped by the Antichrist resulting in Stan teaming up against Jesus Christ, who now is an action hero in this setup. Together they save Francine and stop the Antichrist for good.
