Who is in the cast of Like Water for Chocolate?
Headlining the cast of the show is Azul Guaita, the female protagonist, Tita De La Garza. Her romance with her childhood sweetheart, Pedro Múzquiz, is opposed by Tita's mother.
She finds comfort in cooking in the kitchen, as it provides an outlet for her repressed feelings. She has appeared in titles like Rebelde, La Negociadora, and La Mujer Del Diablo.
Andrés Baida brings Pedro to life and plays Tita's childhood sweetheart on Like Water for Chocolate. He is Tita's neighbor and tries his best to gain her mother's trust in their union.
While he leaves to study in the city, their strong bond survives. He was previously seen in titles like Mi Amor sin Tiempo and Netflix's Bandidos.
Irene Azuela plays the role of Mamá Elena, Tita's mother, who is manipulative and vengeful. She holds her daughters responsible for her traumatic labor experience during childbirth, which creates problems for Tita and Pedro.
She has appeared in titles like Quemar las Naves, The Obscure Spring, and Thursday's Widows.
