Young Sheldon, the prequel spin-off to hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, expanded the show's universe by exploring the formative years of one of its main characters, Sheldon Cooper.

The show, which debuted in 2017 and ended in May 2024, had seven seasons. Child actors Ian Armitage and Raegan Revord, who played Sheldon and Missy, respectively, grew up during the show, which made it special to them.

The cast reminisced about the old days on set and their experience working together on the spin-off of the Jennifer Hudson Show in April 2024.

Here's how the Young Sheldon cast looked back at their time on the set of the TBBT spin-off.

The Young Sheldon cast appeared on the Jennifer Hudson Show in April 2024 to discuss and celebrate the series finale, which aired in May 2024.

Considering the show was on-air for about seven seasons, the cast, especially the young actors, had grown significantly during that time, which made the show's legacy even more nostalgic for them.

When the host asked them to discuss their feelings about the upcoming finale and what they feel about their time on set, actress Raegan Revord (Missy) said:

''It feels weird. Like a time capsule.''

Iain Armitage, who plays young Sheldon Cooper on the show, shared that fans often approach him to say they’ve recently started watching it, which he finds strange to hear as he has grown up.

''''I watched the pilot recently. You look so different.'' I'm like yeah, that was 7 years ago''

Revord and Armitage, who portray the Cooper siblings on the show, were around 9 to 10 years old when it began in 2017. After seven years, they were well into their teenage years, approximately 16 to 17 years old, when the show concluded in May 2024.

Considering that they spent most of their growing-up years on the set, it makes sense that the show plays such a huge part in their lives and careers. They also got to share the screen with the veteran actress Annie Potts, who plays their maternal grandmother on the show. During the show, she also shared her experience and said:

''...they were good starter kids''

Jim Parsons made an on-screen appearance in the Young Sheldon finale

Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, was the narrator in Young Sheldon, guiding the audience throughout the show's seven seasons.

However, TBBT fans were thrilled to see Parsons and Mayim Bialik (Amy) return to their respective roles from the parent series for the Young Sheldon finale. Parsons also discussed his experience of reprising the role of Sheldon in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

"It was beautiful. It was even more beautiful than I expected it to be. One of the reasons I was excited to do it is because what they wrote is so sweet, and I think they worked Mayim and I into that show so beautifully. I hope everyone agrees."

The series finale featured George Sr.'s emotional funeral, where he passed away due to a heart attack. While the entire Cooper family struggled with this tragic loss, Sheldon moved to Caltech to begin his professional career and pursue higher studies.
