In FBI Season 7 Episode 14, 'Hitched,' Special Agent OA Zidan, played by Zeeko Zaki, and his girlfriend, Gemma, portrayed by Comfort Clinton, faced a train hijacking. This situation left viewers questioning the future of their relationship.
Zaki spoke to TVLine to address fan concerns. He said:
"I feel like we definitely left it off in a great place. I’m hoping that this experience makes us stronger, though I think it could go a lot of different ways. We’ll see what the writers are brewing."
The recent episode highlighted OA's quick thinking as he teamed up with Maggie, played by Missy Peregrym, to handle the hijackers and keep Gemma safe. This led fans to wonder if OA will move forward in his relationship.
Zaki, though, has cleared things up a bit. He suggests there might be a possibility of a proposal down the line, but for now, he is not pushing the idea:
"There’s definitely some room to imagine that, but I really feel that there’s a lot more that Gemma and I can build before we get to that point."
The statement opens up big changes in the next FBI episodes.
The train hijack strengthens OA & Gemma’s bond
The relationship between OA and Gemma in FBI has been a surprising and interesting part of the show since Season 6. They have been growing closer despite facing various challenges. Mike Weiss, the showrunner, hinted that OA might become more serious about his feelings for Gemma this season.
He also said that they are planning for Gemma to stay in the show, which suggests that their relationship will be a big part of FBI for a while.
Zaki, who plays OA, talked about this too. He thinks the scary situation in Episode 14, where they almost didn't make it out alive, could bring OA and Gemma even closer. This could be a big moment for their relationship. It is like when you go through something hard with someone, you end up feeling closer to them.
So, it seems like the show is setting up OA and Gemma to have a strong bond. They might have had some tough times, but it looks like they are going to keep supporting each other and their relationship will keep growing. He noted:
"We’ll see if this scares her off, we’ll see if this makes us stronger."
The uncertainty in their story keeps fans interested in how the writers will guide their path. Since OA has always put duty first, his new dedication to a relationship might show a big change in his character.
FBI’s future with a fourth agent, and OA’s next move
As the show goes on, OA and Gemma's story will develop along with the team's larger interactions. Zaki reveals that the FBI is bringing in a new fourth agent. This will change the current trio of OA, Maggie, and Scola, played by John Boyd. Zaki told Us Weekly:
"It’s Three Musketeers for a minute, but we do introduce a fourth agent."
The next episodes of FBI will bring changes in team pairings and introduce new challenges affecting OA's personal and work life.
Zaki mentioned that there will be storylines including eco-terrorism, cartel operations, and the usual cases the team handles.
Since the season finale is still being made, he suggested that OA might get a bigger part in the last episodes:
"Usually, OA gets a heavy one in the last few [episodes]. So we’ll see if there’s one more in the bucket for him."
FBI is leaving OA and Gemma's future in question, but it is looking bright.
