While it has been confirmed that NBC's hit procedural drama Law & Order: Organized Crime will return for a fifth season, fans won't find it on the broadcasting network.

The series follows the personal and professional life of Christopher Meloni's Elliot Stabler, as the former member of the Special Victims Unit (SVU) navigates various challenges while taking down notorious criminal groups.

Following a personal tragedy, Stabler returns to work, but this time for the Organized Crime Control Bureau (OCCB). Since Stabler is the main focus of Law & Order: Organized Crime, fans and viewers get to see him confronting notable criminals and dethroning them from the criminal world.

Elliot Stabler must put in extra effort to expose the formidable criminals, as they expanded their reign of terror while he was away. Stabler is accompanied by his resilient co-worker, Sergeant Ayanna Bell, who helps him lead groups of detectives in the show.

In the previous season of Law & Order: Organized Crime, we saw Dylan McDermott's villainous Richard intensify the problems. Additionally, Stabler lost his beloved wife, and he continues to suffer from the loss throughout the season.

In the season finale, Stabler's brother Joe and Julian (the bad guy) succeeded in escaping the authorities, making room for season five. Fans can also expect the continuation of the drug war narrative in the fifth installment as things get wilder in the city.

Season 5 will shed light on Elliot Stabler's family dynamics, as the series has confirmed a bigger role for one of the recurring actors, Dean Norris, who plays Stabler's elder brother, Randall Stabler.

The fifth installment wouldn't happen without Christopher Meloni, so the actor is bound to return. Fans will now see Randall as a regular cast member for Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5, as the character plays a bigger part in the narrative.

Apart from Stabler, Sergeant Bell (played by Danielle Moné Truitt) and Ainsley Seiger's Jet have been regular cast members since the first season, but they haven't been confirmed to appear in the upcoming installment on Peacock.

Other actors who appeared in season 4 include Rick Gonzalez as Reyes, Michael Trotter as Joe, Tom Payne as Julian Emery, Nicky Torchia as Eli, and Ellen Burstyn as Bernie.

While the release date for Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 remains unknown, it's expected that the fifth installment will follow the typical streaming show format, with 10 episodes per season. The procedural drama has moved to Peacock, as it received most of its viewership from the platform after episodes aired on NBC.

While talking about the shift in an interview with TVLine, NBCUniversal Entertainment President of Programming Planning Strategy Jeff Bader said:

"Organized Crime is a very successful show; this isn’t a show that was on the bubble. It’s a show that works across the board, and it’s very, very strong on streaming."

He added:

"[Moving Season 5 to Peacock] is a win-win for us — 80% of its viewing isn’t in the time period where we schedule it, it’s delayed on Peacock, so it just made sense to move that to free up the time period."

The transition was an impressive strategic move, helping the series boost its viewership and making time for another show to take over the free slot on NBC. The episodes of the upcoming season might not follow the typical run of 40-45 minutes on the streamer.

Fans are also speculating if they'll get to see more crossovers between Organized Crime and Law & Order: SVU. The last crossover was quite brief, where Stabler left a voicemail for Benson, and she answered it during the finale of her series.

Law & Order: Organized Crime will soon arrive on Peacock.
