The latest episode of Landman brings in some unwanted guests on both the personal and professional fronts. Monty Miller suffers from the consequences after the blowout between M-Tex Oil’s airplane and a TTP truck.
He contemplates making his landman Tommy a scapegoat for the blowout but realizes that he is too valuable to lose in this fashion. Tommy still suffers the blowout's repercussions and finds himself in a debate with Rebecca, the new attorney.
Tommy also faces conflicting decisions at home when her daughter wants to live with him rather than his ex-wife Angela, who comes to visit them in the city.
Elsewhere, Cooper suffers from survivor's guilt after the blowout takes three of his colleagues. He is also ambushed by cousins of his dead colleagues who blame him for their deaths.

Angela pays her ex-husband Tommy a visit in Landman Season 1 Episode 3
Problems arise for Tommy on the personal front when her ex-wife Angela arrives in Odessa. She asks her husband to take her and their daughter, Ainsley, to the country club for some margaritas.
Tommy leaves mother and daughter to catch up over drinks, and rushes to handle business. Ainsley tells her mother that she wants to avenge Dakota after she learns that her friend is now dating her ex-boyfriend. The mother-daughter duo gets very drunk, and Tommy finds them passed out on the table.
Dale helps him, and he takes them home. Ainsley tells her father that she wants to stay with him, even when Angela has her custody. Tommy realizes that Angela will be heartbroken when she discovers this.
A drunk Angela flirts with Tommy and gets in bed with him, but he breaks the news about Ainsley to her first. As expected, she is distraught, and Tommy suggests they get back together. Angela, however, refuses because Tommy always prioritizes work over his family.
Tommy might have to face consequences after the TTP Blowout in Landman Season 1 Episode 3
Monty Miller is clearly distraught after the TTP Blowout and is advised to fire Tommy and put the blame on him. However, Monty realizes that he cannot run the company without his landman and that Tommy is a valuable asset to him.
He asks Tommy to handle the situation with the blowout and prepare for the deposition, which would require him to be present in court. Chandler, their former attorney, advises Tommy to build a friendship with his replacement, Rebecca, if he wants to clear this situation.
However, they have arguments while visiting the site where the crash happened. Tommy kills a venomous snake that was about to take Rebecca's life. Is this the beginning of a new relationship?
Cooper finds a new crew in Landman Season 1 Episode 3
Cooper seems to be getting over the blowout and his colleague's death. He is attacked by the cousins of the dead roughnecks, who blame him for their deaths. However, he is taken in by 'Boss', who asks him to join his crew, which includes two people who beat him earlier.
He strikes a friendship with Ariana, the widow of Elvio Medina, who finds comfort in his presence. However, he is threatened by Elvio's cousins, and he continues to work as a part of Boss' crew.
