What is Peacock's latest comedy series Laid about?

After discovering that all her ex-boyfriends are dying one by one, Ruby decides to look into the matter herself. Not only is this a dire situation, but it is also restraining her from hooking up with her new office crush, Issac.

On investigating with her friend AJ, the group realizes that it was Brad who put a hex on Ruby because she slept with him and treated him like garbage the following day. While AJ sympathizes with Brad, she needs a way out of this curse because her boyfriend Zack is also on the line, because Ruby has also slept with him.

After discovering they can not end the curse put on Ruby, they decide to transfer it to her elderly neighbor, Jill, by doing a ritual. While everyone thinks that the curse is finally lifted off of Ruby, it doesn't seem to go away as we learn from AJ that Ruby's last boyfriend, Jason, is dead.

Laid Season 1 ends on a cliffhanger with Ruby's estranged father showing up at her door and telling her that they can help her solve the curse as he has also been a victim of it in the past.
