Peacock's dark comedy, Laid, just wrapped its Season 1, and while everything seemed to be going right for the protagonist, Ruby, in the finale, fans are left with enough mysteries that could lead to a potential Season 2.
Ruby discovers that one of her boyfriends from college has died. While she attends his funeral, she realizes that all of the men she has dated in her life are dropping dead one by one.
While it cannot be a coincidence, she asks her true crime enthusiast best friend AJ for help, who soon discovers that Ruby slept with her boyfriend Zack and does not help her.

Why are Ruby's exes dying in Laid Season 1? Exploring the hex
Her ex, Richie, was the only exception who did not die in Laid Season 1. While AJ is still upset with Ruby for sleeping with her boyfriend, she realizes that one of her colleagues, Brad, had drunkenly confessed to putting a hex on her, which is causing her exes to drop dead one by one.
On confronting him, the group realizes that Ruby had slept with Brad multiple times and somehow pissed him off. It appears that he had arranged to put a hex on her to get back at her.
On further investigation, the group discovers that Brad got help from a woman with magical powers, and the only way to undo the curse is to transfer it.
Did Ruby get rid of the hex?
The group decides that Ruby's elderly neighbor, Jill, is the perfect subject to transfer the hex to. They proceed to complete the transfer ritual after guidance from the woman with magical powers.
Some months pass, and the hex seems to be working because Ruby's last boyfriend, Jason, is alive, and she sees him completing a marathon. While walking down the street with her current love interest, Issac, they notice an elderly man dropping dead, confirming that Ruby is in the clear now.
Knowing that the curse has finally lifted, Ruby starts making out with Issac. However, she gets a call from AJ telling her that Jason died right after his marathon, which means that the curse is still on and the next target is Zack, AJ's boyfriend.
Laid Season 1 ends with Ruby getting a surprise visit from her estranged father, who reveals that he can help with the curse, which had once affected him. So, is this a family thing that is passed on to generations? How will the daughter-father duo undo it?
While Peacock has not officially reprised Laid for Season 2, we hope to get answers soon!
