Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban appeared in an interview on Motiversity on May 12, 2020, released via their YouTube channel. The billionaire entrepreneur shared motivation via a video titled OUTWORK EVERYONE | Brutally Honest Business Advice from Billionaire Mark Cuban.

When Mark Cuban faced the question about what was the number one reason behind people's failure, he responded:

"Lack of brains, lack of effort. Yeah. They just they don't do the work. They don't learn, you know. When you walk in the room when you start a business and you start to talk about somebody, you're you're never in a vacuum with no competition, you know, unless you're just extremely lucky."

Shark Tank's billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban revealed his thoughts on competition, specific business knowledge, and more

During Mark Cuban's Motiversity interview, he commented on why people fail. He said it was a "lack of brains and lack of efforts." He stated that every business has its competition. Those who don't face it are "extremely lucky."

Additionally, Mark Cuban stated that there would "always" be somebody, a competitor, who would know about your business more than you do. Hence, walking in a "competitive" environment requires knowing more about that particular business and the customers. If that's not the case, losing would be the result.

"But most people don't consider that. They don't do the work. They don't learn more about their industry."

Shark Tank's mentor stated that most people are unaware of their business as they don't put in "efforts" to know about their targetted industry. That was the "brains" part and the "efforts" part of the question he faced.

Further, Mark stated that, for example, if someone were to compete against Mark Cuban, they had better know what they were doing.

"Otherwise, I'm gonna kick you out, you know, and you're not gonna outwork me. And so, you know, the combination is usually what kills businesses early on more than anything."

The host asked Mark how he could "within five minutes interview" tell if that person would make it as an entrepreneur. Agreeing, Mark said he could "typically tell" because of their "passion." Along with that, other factors that matter are focus and preparation.

He mentioned the "business," and then a "thousand things" would influence that business. That would be the deciding factor as to whether that person will be successful or not.

"You know, through my experience in businesses, I can put myself in his position and say, okay, here are 900 of the thousand things he has to be aware of and then go through and ask. And by how many of those or her, issues they've been able to address already, that kinda gives me a sense of how hard they're willing to work, you know."

Based on the questions Mark faces, he stated that he could "tell" about that person. Further in the interview, the Shark Tank mentor discussed "always learning" and more.
