The Jessica Jones actor, Krysten Ritter, set the internet theorizing again that she will be a part of Daredevil: Born Again. However, since the finale is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, many are hoping for Jessica to return in the second season, which is currently filming in New York. While it is not official, given that Ritter specifically posted an image in her story.

The said image showed Daredevil: Born Again Star Charlie Cox reading a book along with the following caption:

"All the Cool Kids are reading RETREAT"

For the uninitiated, Retreat is a book written by actress Krysten Ritter's. While her stories have included other actors who are currently reading the book, the shout-out to Charlie Cox reading her book might be hinting at a Marvel return as Power Woman/Jewel either in a Disney+ solo series or Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

While theorizing a possible return may feel like a stretch, it should be noted that the actress has expressed interest in a return. Moreover, Marvel Studios did the same in the past. Furthermore, Daredevil: Born Again, which is a revival of the original Netflix series, was brought back after getting canceled in 2018. And, so did Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle/ the Punisher.

Therefore, it makes sense that over time, even Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, who teamed up with Matt in 2017's The Defenders, also come back to the MCU.

Krysten Ritter's possible Marvel return in a solo series or Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 explained:

The Netflix Marvel Universe turns a decade old as it began with Daredevil, which spun off four other shows, namely, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. In 2017, all the characters, except for Frank Castle/the Punisher, teamed up for The Defenders. However, they remained separate after the first season of The Defenders.

It was the case until Daredevil: Born Again was officially confirmed in the July 2022 San Diego Comic-Con. Thus, ever since that announcement, Marvel fans have been waiting for an update on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. The status of the rest of Netflix's Marvel shows was touched upon by Brad Winderbaum.

Winderbaum, who is the head of streaming, television, and animation in Marvel, said this during an interview with Entertainment Weekly on February 19, 2025, weeks before the release of Daredevil: Born Again:

“I can't say much, but I'll tell you that it's so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox. Obviously we don't have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book. If you can draw it, you can do it. It's dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television. But I can just say that all those variables taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring."

Other than him, Krysten Ritter, while promoting her book Retreat, said this in a CBS Mornings interview on March 24, 2025, regarding her return as Jessica Jones either in a Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 or a solo series:

"Listen, I love Jessica Jones. I think it's so exciting that there seems to be such an appetite to see her again. I get asked about it almost everyday. We remain cautiously optimistic. If they asked me, I would be there ready. I may or may not have the jacket that I stole from set."

Considering that many are theorizing that Born Again Season 2 is based on the Shadowland event, now it would be prudent to bring back Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
