In the newly released trailer of Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, the entertainer cracked a joke about getting “kicked out of show business.” DeGeneres donned her usual charming smile as she walked onto a stage with a theatre full of adoring fans.
After briefly greeting her admirers, she gave a quick update about the current events in her life and pondered about what else she could reveal to fans.
With a dramatic pause, she takes out a small crumpled piece of paper, glances at it appearing deep in thought, propped up, and says,
“Oh yeah! I got kicked out of show business!”
She reinstated the same with a smile and laughed along with fans in the audience. The trailer shifts to a sign reading: “Ellen is back” and continues with her explaining the aftermath of her joke.
DeGeneres recalled a previous headline - “The ‘Be Kind’ girl isn’t kind,” and elaborated on the matter. DeGeneres clearly remembers her iconic tagline encouraging viewers of her show and fans galore to practice kindness. Then, she brought back her savage response to the claims saying,
“Had I responded with ‘Go f*** yourselves, people would’ve been pleasantly surprised to find out that I’m kind.”

Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval will premiere later this month on September 24, 2024. The announcement came moments after Netflix dropped the long-awaited trailer of her final stand-up comedy show docuseries.
The show’s runtime per Netflix is 1 hour and 10 minutes. Non-Netflix users can subscribe via their many plans based on the number of screens.
The streaming platform offers two plans: Standard - with ads costing $6.99 and without ads $15.99, whereas Premium offers viewers a 4K viewing experience with no advertisements and allows up to 4 devices for $22.99.

In a statement with Variety dated September 3, 2024, DeGeneres confirmed the aforementioned. DeGeneres confirmed while gushing about her wife,
“Yes, I’m going to talk about it. Yes, this is my last special. Yes, Portia really is that pretty in real life."
Earlier this year, DeGeneres confirmed her retirement from the world of comedy and entertainment and bid adieu to several fans across the country on her tour.
