Season 15 of Gold Rush aired on Discovery for all its fans on November 3, 2024. Successfully finishing off 14 years after its debut in 2010, the search for gold has intrigued many fans all these years. This season has been a rocky ride for the miners with equipment failures, water license challenges, and more.

Gold Rush is a reality TV show that follows the chronicles of several miners digging deep into the Earth's surface in search of the precious metal. Initially, the show was based in Alaska, but later it shifted to the Klondike region and other hotspots for mining. The camera follows the struggling miners, including Parker Schnabel, Tony Beets, and Rick Ness.

Throughout the show, they navigate various challenges of the terrain and try to meet their goals. In their pursuit of gold, all these miners explore different locations along with their professional teams.

Kevin Beets from Gold Rush struggles in his new venture

After working with his father, the OG, Tony Beets, Kevin finally decides to start his own mining operations with his partner, Faith Teng, this season. Even though he thought he was ready to take on such a big responsibility, he ended up facing some major challenges along the journey.

Parker Schnabel, a friend of Kevin turned this opportunity in his favor. When Kevin went to Parker to acquire that truck with a budget of $100,000, Parker quickly decided to raise the price to $110,000. This had no other choice but to go over budget and get the truck.

Considering Kevin's financial situation, Parker did give him some relief with the payment. He agreed to take the payments by the end of the season. However, he gave no warranty on the equipment and as expected, the 20-year-old A-40 truck landed and got stuck during a quest. This made Kevin miss his weekly deadline.

Gold Rush star Kevin Beets expands his team

Before acquiring the truck from Parker, Kevin was relying upon the equipment he borrowed from his father, Tony. This team had a target of acquiring 1,000 ounces of gold before the season ended, but with the tools available at hand, the goal was looking farfetched.

To achieve the goal before the deadline, Kevin also added two new members to his team. Hunter Cannon, a rookie who used to work for the government joined the team. She wanted to leave her job and work in the Yukon. Right after Kevin hired her as he came across her TikTok videos, her truck broke down.

Another member to join Team Kevin was Chase Dreger. Chase has been living in his parents' basement and he wishes to earn money from this to move out from there. He comes from a background working at a gravel pit. However, his truck also couldn't take the pressure of the real mining site and broke.

With all the setbacks hitting their way, the Gold Rush star and his team ended up missing the deadline for this week. They would have to dig deeper holes in the coming weeks to make 1,000 ounces of gold and pay Parker for the truck.

You can watch the new season of Gold Rush on Discovery Channel every Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
