Netflix premiered Million Dollar Secret on March 26, 2025, and released the first three episodes. The competition series features 12 individuals competing against each other. Hosted by Peter Serafinowicz, Netflix describes the show as:

"In this cutthroat competition series, an undercover millionaire must hide in plain sight and evade elimination to keep the money and win the game."

During the Million Dollar Secret, Episode 1, fans witnessed 12 participants arriving at the lakeside villa called The Stag. After they had gone to their rooms, one of the participants, Lauren, found $1 million in her room. Witnessing such a huge amount on the first day of the competition, she confessed:

"I am so scared to be the millionaire, and I'm terrified to start that grueling game of deceit. It's good, it's good, it's good. It's good. It's gonna be fine. Okay. Wow. I'm gonna act like nothing's different at all. My box is empty. Just have to be totally normal."

The competition series introduced 12 participants, all given their animal signs. Cara, Chris, Corey, Harry, Jaimi, Kyle, Lauren, Lydia, Phillip, Samantha (Sam), Se Young, and Sydnee were competitors.

In her introductory video, Lauren told the cameras:

"I left my three kids and my husband to come here and try to win this game. And being away from them is the hardest thing I've ever done, so I have to win it."

After welcoming everyone to The Stag, the host, Peter Serafinowicz, told everyone that the "adventure" was about to begin.

"In each of your rooms right now, there is a box. And in one of those boxes, there is a million dollars. Whoever finds the million dollars in their room gets to keep it. But only if they can hide in plain sight until the end of their stay. Keep your secret. Keep your money," the host said.

Listening to him, Million Dollar Secret star Lauren told the cameras that she "hates" lying. That was the reason why she struggled with the "morality" of it. However, that was the game. As for the rest of the participants, the host mentioned it was up to them to "hunt down" the millionaire prey.

Most of them found a note in their boxes as they went to their room. As for Lauren, she saw a million dollars in cash in her box. The female participant was surprised. At first, she closed the lid and yelled, "no" again, she opened the box and exclaimed:

"No! Oh my God! Oh no. Okay, okay No. This is...This is good. It's no big deal. Oh, oh my God. What is happening?"

As she told herself that she would have to "act" totally normally, she heard a knock on her door. It was the host, Peter. He arrived and opened Lauren's box. He then asked her if she was good at keeping secrets. Lauren replied she was "gonna have to be."

The Million Dollar Secret host then told Lauren her secret agenda after she became a millionaire.

"Before the first activity at sundown, you must hug each of the guests. Each of them. And if you accomplish it, you will get two extra votes at tomorrow's elimination dinner. But remember, the guests are watching everyone for odd behavior."

Peter then asked Lauren if she was a "hugger." She declined and said she "looked" like a hugger but was not.
