Recently released on Netflix, Just One Look is the Polish adaptation of Harlan Coben's 2004 novel. The source material for Just One Look is also known as Tylko jedno spojrzenie and features a nail-biting mystery involving the lead character of Greta Remiewska, played by Maria Dębska. Just One Look introduces Greta as a jewelry designer whose life is ravaged by the discovery of a strange old photograph that somehow involves her husband.
Just One Look aims to be a worthy on-screen adaptation of its literary source, and therefore, the production team was quite careful in choosing the backdrop. The Netflix miniseries has been entirely shot in Poland, specifically in the Polish capital city of Warsaw. The visual element that has been added to the mix under filming the miniseries in a city like Warsaw is quite apparent.
Netflix released all of the episodes of the miniseries together on March 5. Ever since then, the show has been steadily grabbing eyeballs across the streaming platform. This isn't the first time that a Harlan Coben novel has been adapted by Netflix, with previous instances including Fool Me Once, Stay Close, Missing You, The Stranger, The Innocent, Safe, The Woods, Hold Tight, and Gone For Good.
Here's everything that we know.
Just One Look filming locations revealed
According to Tudum by Netflix, most of the show's action has been set in Warsaw, Poland. This was an interesting choice on the part of the makers of the show since Warsaw has recently become the most important Polish city to invite filmmakers and showrunners. Warsaw is both a sprawling city bustling in all corners while at the same time providing an idyllic retreat in some places.
Warsaw has a gifted combination of diverse architectural periods converging across the same city blocks. For instance, the city has archaic buildings alongside Soviet-era structures that offer a lot of scope and versatility in terms of filming. It does seem apparent that the production made skillful use of both indoor and on-location filming.
