"Just a connection thing": When Ahsoka stars engaged in an amusing round of 'know-each-other' quiz

Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker share a meaningful connection in the Star Wars universe. It appears that the actors who portray the roles also share a friendship off-screen. Rosario Dawson, who portrays Ahsoka Tano, and Hayden Christensen, who portrays Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader, were last seen together in Ahsoka Season 1(2023). In Star Wars, Ahsoka Tano is a former Jedi knight who served as Padawan apprentice to Jedi Anakin Skywalker.

The two actors have known each other since 1995, when they were in the same theatre school in New York. While speaking to Variety, Rosario said:

“It’s funny having us paired together, cause I’m goofy as all hell. That’s why they pair us together to kind of take me down.”

Hayden added:

‘And we coordinate our clothing too, which helps.”

Rosario immediately chimed in:

“By accident. It’s just a connection thing.”

Rosario recalled how she was "stoked for" Hayden when he was cast as Anakin Skywalker at the age of 19. Hayden shared that the audition process was long. As a young, struggling artist, he could not afford the plane tickets from Vancouver to Los Angeles to take part in the next phase of the auditions, which involved meeting George Lucas. He almost passed on the role until he received a call that changed his career. He recalled:

“And then I got a phone call like a few weeks later saying they would pay for my ticket to come out to Skywalker Ranch. And I got to meet George out at the Skywalker Ranch. And that went well. And then I auditioned with Natalie. And I got a really nice phone call a few days later saying I got the part.”

When asked who was better with a lightsaber, both actors agreed that Hayden had an edge over Rosario. He said:

“I’ve had a lot of practice."

Rosario quipped:

“Now if you were to ask who’s better with two lightsabers, clearly me.”

Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars

Anakin Skywalker is a Jedi Knight of the Galactic Republic and the prophesied Chosen One. However, he would later turn to the dark side and take on the name Darth Vader.

Ahsoka Tano is a former Jedi who served as Padawan learner to Anakin. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the animated movie, she learns the Jedi ways alongside Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Through their lessons, Anakin and Ahsoka develop a close connection.

After she leaves the Jedi order, she sets out on her own to fight for justice in the galaxy. She is unaware of Anakin’s new identity as Darth Vader. She eventually meets him during a duel in a Sith Temple.

In Ahsoka Season 1, she would once again meet Anakin in the ‘World Between Worlds’, a mystical force plane that creates pathways between time and space. He would teach her a final lesson as her master. Hayden as Anakin is slated to return in Ahsoka Season 2.
