Jeopardy!, the unique quiz show that offers clues in the form of answers, is currently running in its 41st season. The season premiered on September 9, 2024, on ABC.

In each episode, three contestants participate in three rounds: Jeopardy!, Double Jeopardy!, and Final Jeopardy! The player with the highest score at the end of all three rounds wins the episode.

For the October 7 episode, the contestants were Mark Fitzpatrick, Amanda Prucil, and Daniel Gately. The show follows a format where players are given a trivia clue, phrased as an answer instead of a question, and they must respond by phrasing their answer in the form of a question.

Mark had a lead from the beginning, but as tradition goes, the last round could make or break it. All three contestants were unable to come up with the correct answers, but Mark Fitzpatrick won the episode with $20,000 because he maintained his lead from the first round. The trivia clue for Final Jeopardy! was:

"In 1886 this brand's bookkeeper came up with its name & flowing script logo, saying, "The Two Cs would look well in advertising."

Mark guessed the answer to be "Coco Chanel," and Amanda guessed "Chanel," both of which were incorrect. Daniel's guess was "Currier." However, the correct response was "What is Coca-Cola?"

Who were the participants on Jeopardy! October 7 episode?

For episode 21 of Jeopardy! Season 41, three players went head-to-head. Amanda Prucil, a communication advisor, had a good start, but her two competitors, Mark Fitzpatrick, a content manager from Riverside, and Daniel Gately, a school teacher from Arizona, were giving her a tough time.

Mark, who had already won the Friday episode aired on October 4 by beating Ryan Manton, who had maintained a four-day winning streak, recorded a consecutive win on October 7. He had a strong start, accumulating $6,800 in the first round. This lead helped him secure the win because, in the final round, all three players failed to come up with the correct answers.

Amanda used her first Daily Double wisely to gain the lead, but according to her, she couldn’t compete as aggressively as Mark. Mark began the game by betting on the NFL category, confident in his knowledge of the subject. Daniel did not have a strong start but got back on track in the second round. However, after the scores of the first two rounds, which were:

  • Mark Fitzpatrick: $23,400
  • Amanda Pruscila: $600
  • Daniel Gately: $4,200

Mark was the clear winner as they all moved into the final round. After his two-day consecutive win, Mark took home a total cash prize of $50,401.

The quiz show was created by Merv Griffin, and its format reverses conventional quiz methodology, boosting viewership with its unique twist. The show first premiered in 1964, with NBC originally broadcasting it during the daytime.

Now, the show airs on Daily Syndication, releasing new episodes every day. Having run for nearly six decades, Jeopardy! has become a historic television program.

Jeopardy! releases new episodes daily at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on U.S. syndication networks. Fans can also subscribe to YouTube TV, which is available nationwide in the U.S.
