Jeopardy! The October 16 episode welcomed new champion Rishabh Wuppalati along with Jay Eversman, and Rachel Cassidy. On Tuesday, October 15, Rishabh defeated the two-time champion Eamonn Campbell and won big by taking risks on the wagers. He stood first with the total winning amount of $22,201.

For the Thursday episode, Jay Eversman, an Environmental Attorney from Saint Louis, Missouri, and Rachel Cassidy, an Associate Professor from Rhodes Island gave their best fight to the returning champion with their diverse knowledge in categories.

However, as the first round started, all three were going head-to-head, making it impossible to preempt who would win.

For the first round, the categories were:

"Hey Pumpkin!-A World Tour-Enjoy A Concerto-Holiday and Observances- Show Bizz Movies-"OUT" With It."

The host, Ken Jennings told all three players to be careful of the word out within the quotes. The round started, and Rishabh was leading. However, in the end, Jack Eversman with his last $200 guess, took the lead and stood first with $3,800. Rishabh was at $3,200, and Rachel stood second with $2,400.

Jeopardy! October 16, 2024: All we know from the game show night

With Jack in the lead, Ken started the second round. All three players were pumped for the second round. However, The second round flipped the picture, as the leading player Jack Eversman struggled to maintain his position. In Double Jeopardy! Round, the categories were:

"American History-The Book Nook-Astronomy-The Blank of the Blank-What's On TV?-That's Such a Cliche."

Rachel kicked off the round with the clue "A Book Nook," but unfortunately, she couldn't recall the correct answer. As the competition heated up, Rishabh showcased his extensive knowledge of Astronomy, which allowed him to maintain a solid lead.

In a pivotal moment, Rachel answered a Daily Double correctly, which significantly closed the gap between her and Rishabh.

As the second round came to a close, the scoreboard reflected Rishabh’s strong performance with $10,400, closely followed by Rachel at $10,100, while Jack rounded out the trio with $4,800.

It was time for the Final Jeopardy! and the category for the final clue was, 'College Towns'. Here is the trivia of the 'College Towns' clue for the Final Jeopardy! Round of October 16, 2024:

"2 schools in the Southeastern Conference are located in cities with this same name but in different states."

Risabh and Rachel both came up with the right answers and won the wager by adding $9,801 and $9,601 respectively to their account. However, Jack guessed the wrong answer and lost all his winnings, and stood with just $1. The right answer to the final clue is here:

Jack Eversman made the unfortunate guess of "Oxford" as his answer, resulting in a loss of $4,799. In a nail-biting finish, Rishabh managed to beat Rachel, with their scores separated by a mere $500. This victory crowned Rishabh Wuppalati as a two-day champion, showcasing his impressive skills.


Rishabh Wuppalati is set to return for his third game in the upcoming Jeopardy! Episode, which will air on October 17, 2024.
